Fun location on a pool patio. The previous reviews were spot on. I had a pork shoulder which was tender and tasty. My wife had the first which was amazing. We are both Celiac and did not get sick. I will go back here again. It is a casual environment with super tasty food.

Had a wonderful birthday celebration for my partner at Mahina & Sun's! It is a quaint restaurant inside the surf jack hotel in Waikiki. We went on a Friday and set by the pool with a view of a chill 2 person band and Elvis's Blue Hawaii playing on a screen in silent mode. Really fun! The food was amazing with boiled peanuts on the table that tasted like nothing I've ever had. Apparently boiled for 4 hours with ginger and other spices. Lots of gluten free options. We had the fresh catch, which was a delicate white opakapaka with mashed creamy ulu (breadfruit), and a pancetta, mushroom risotto. The food is incredibly tasty and high quality. For desert we had a GF crustless cheesecake with a strawberry basil sauce that was made from goat cheese, it was super interesting and not too sweet. Also all the wait staff was very nice. We are local and plan to go back in the future, happy to find this hidden gem. Also super fun to be at surf jack hotel which is dog friendly so you can watch dogs walk by for their evening walk while we were dining.

We didn’t know much about this place before eating there but it was delightful in every way. Casual fine dining vibes. Most of their menu items were gluten free or could be make gluten free, including dessert. We enjoyed two fish mains and a banana cream pudding and cheesecake, all of which was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, asked about any allergies before taking our order and even checked in to make sure I was feeling okay after the meal. The overall atmosphere is great, with live music and old Elvis movies playing on a projector. Highly recommend!
