I will never eat here again. Or recommend this business. I ordered our meal through Uber eats as I couldn’t drive. I asked for specific Gluten free items for myself and non gluten free for my family. The whole order arrived gluten free. The batter was so thick the potato cakes were not cooked through. The fish was thick and gluggy. The scollops had not been cleaned of the green poo like substance. This would have to be the worst meal I have ever ordered for a hefty $75 delivered. To make the matters worse I called to have this rectified and the owner was horrible and rude and not helpful. Told me to come pick the new order up. When I clearly couldn’t drive to get it. Then expected me to call Uber eats and re pay for the delivery. I’m super angry and will make it my mission to let everyone know how poor this service was. I’m disappointed because we ordered here often and the food has definitely gone down hill along with the customer service and attitude.

I contacted the business for reassurance about cross-contamination and safe food handling practices for Coeliacs. I got an amazing response. Owner is a very experienced ex-nurse and was a health inspector for restaurants that serve for children of allergies. They have a dedicated fryer and separate storage and preparation areas for gluten-free. They train all their staff about Coeliacs but the owners and only a couple of selected staff (one of whom is a Coeliac) prepare and handle the gluten-free food. They are extremely conscientious and thorough.

Use a separate fryer for gluten free items but not available on Fridays. You can get nearly every regular item as gluten free. I’ve never had an issue here but my mum who has lived 20+ years as a coeliac and is extremely sensitive to cross contamination has been sick once when we got take away from here (and we have not been back since). I’m not sure how well teenagers taking orders and working the fryers really care?

I ordered some gluten free fish and chips from there today and was impressed with the quality. It did take a while for my order to be ready but that is understandable as it was slightly more complicated. The fish and chips were great and it’s now going to be my go to place for fish and chips! (They also have a range of other burgers, wraps and snacks that are gluten free!)

They have a large menu for Coeliacs, vegetarians, and vegans. I had a GF falafel wrap and chips. I'm very grateful to have a Coeliac-safe fish and chip shop close by.
