Specifically came here as we had looked it up ahead of time to get lunch on our road trip (5yo has celiac). Website seemed abundantly clear that they were accommodating However when we ordered a grilled cheese for our clutter celiac they said they would only cook it on a fresh pan “if they had time”. Luckily they did end up “having time” but we were a bit put off by that attitude considering what they say online.

Always nice to find a place you feel safe eating while in a small town. I told the server (who turned out to be the owner) that I had celiac disease, she assured me that if the item is marked GF it has no chance of cross contamination. As others have said her daughter has celiac disease so they are very aware and have a full separate area of the kitchen where gluten free items are prepared. Would absolutely eat here again. I’m still dreaming about that gf tiramisu.

This diner has an incredible, authentic atmosphere. It was amazing to have so many options as a celiac, I cried when I left because where I live, that is really rare. Wish we lived closer but will definitely come again if we are in the area!

Food was delicious! They have a celiac member of the family, and so they were knowledgeable and careful. I wod highly recommend them if you're in the area. Even the non- gf members of my family raved about the food here.

I heard the daugther of the owners is highly allergic to gluten. So they are really conscious of their practice.

Dedicated fryer. Staff’s daughter has celiac so very aware. Mostly deep fried items plus salads available. Had wings and a chef salad…many desert options.

We had the GF fish and chips and they were delicious! Fryer is kept GF, so had little risk of cross contamination. They have a celiac in the family, so take pains to keep food safe. Lots of other GF options, too.

I’ve never seen upfront Celiac precaution info on a menu. They list in red what the kitchen does for safety, have a separate fryer for chicken fingers (!!) and fries and only charge *a dollar* for the delicious gf bun. When I mentioned it to our sever she said it’s because she has Celiac and she’s the daughter. I love it when a restaurant runs their business due to first hand experience. So forget the fancy, trendy eating environment because you get this eatery in a strip mall. But the classic burger I had was massive, delicious and had no fillers. The bacon and mushrooms were plenty and the fries were delicious. We wander through Oliver for winery tours and now we will be stopping at M&J’s faithfully.

Thank goodness for this little gem of a diner! Oliver offers a lot of GF high end food but sometimes you just want a burger and fries… or chicken strips… or fish and chips! Well, this place has got you covered! The owners daughter is celiac so they get it. All the fryers are GF. No gluten goes into them. I went at least 4 times this week! Burger was delicious, chicken strips with honey mustard reminded me of being a (gluten eating) kid! Lots and lots of safe for celiac choices.

Owner definitely understands risks of cross contact so quite safe. It was disappointing that only a few items on menu labeled GF are actually celiac safe.

Best gluten-free breakfast I've ever had. They even asked what kind of gluten free toast I'd like! I've never had a choice before. Although this is not a dedicated gluten-free facility, one of the family members of the owner has celiac disease so they understand and have separate prep and utensils and cooking areas. I even got a couple of gluten free cheesecakes to go! There were 8 different kinds and they also had 2 kinds of gluten free pies and other goodies.
