One thing I’ve missed since being diagnosed with celiac disease is KBBQ. It’s so fun to go for date nights or with friends & family. You get to grill up all your own menu selections. Well, I’ve found a place that has gluten free items labeled on the menu! The ambiance is nice and trendy, fun music, and there’s a button to press to call the server which is neat. They use all dedicated tongs in the back for each meat. You cook it using your own tong and you feel much safer knowing you’re doing all the cooking. All the meats and sides are unlimited! For the sides, I chose white rice and corn cheese (corn, kewpie mayo, and shredded cheese). The corn cheese is so addicting. For the meats, we had #s 5, 6, 12, 17, and 23. All so good! We also grilled up some veggies. If your group or partner eats gluten, cook your GF items first and ask for another tong. They can switch out the grill pans (just ask) so no worries if you want another round of meat. Feel free to ask for salt as well. I brought my own GF sauces just in case but never used them because I thought everything tasted great without, but doesn’t hurt to bring your own. Next time I think I’d try out my GF Bachan’s Japanese BBQ sauce on some meats. For dessert, I saw that they offer macaron ice cream sandwiches — I didn’t ask but those should be gluten free from what I know. This restaurant has a few locations in SD so they should all operate the same way. P.S. join the waitlist on Yelp to reduce waiting time! P.S.S. heads up, you will smell like burnt meat after so bring a change of clothes if you’re going somewhere afterwards haha
