They were knowledgeable about gluten free and I felt 100% safe. I love that they even offer kids options that are gf. My picky kid got a big old plate of nachos and loved them. Their salsa is better than standard Mexican restaurant fare too. I recommend if you’re in old town Temecula.
Margarita's Cocina Y Cantina is so good! It's in Old Town Temecula. The owner is gluten sensitive and has a labeled menu. Staff is knowledgeable and guess what... you can have gluten free refried beans!!! Plate 1 is a green enchilada and a beef fried taco w/ beans and rice. Plate 2 is carne beef plate w/ corn tortillas, beans, and rice. Plate 3 is trio fajitas (steak, chicken, and shrimp), Plate 4 is a salad with an avocado dressing. We also got chips and salsa, they have a dedicated gf frier. We also got carne asada fries and those were great. I forgot to take a picture of the whole plate but I included like a small percentage of it on a little plate. The servings are huge so you can split food.
They have a separate fryer for corn and flour. That means they have GF chips, taquitos, crispy tacos, fries, etc. clean nice restaurant. At the back of a building took a second to find it. Great service staff was familiar with cross contamination. Made me feel welcome with all my questions. I had chiliquilies it was good a little spicy for me (but I’m a wimp). I didn’t get sick and I’m super sensitive. We will be back!
There are many GF choices and some are marked on the menu. The food is delicious and the chips are cooked in a dedicated fryer. Everything is homemade including all sauces and tortillas. This is now our go to Mexican food place. We love it and have brought many friends to enjoy this delicious food. The staff is well trained in gluten free. The owner has a gluten intolerance and understands the importance of cross contamination. This is a new place and is very clean. Cocktails are excellent, you will not be disappointed!
