We have been here twice and got sick the second time. If you go, I recommend only going on a weekday or other off time so that you have more time to ask questions and make sure the server writes everything down correctly.
No dedicated fryers. Had to explain to staff about gluten, chef equally clueless. Said they understood (though I was dubious), massive reaction.
Went here with a friend who is very allergic to gluten. He orders the clam chowder so I asked if it was gluten free. She said "I'll check and be right back". She came back with soup and said "yep it's gluten free". My friend started eating away. She came back 2 minutes later and said "I'm sorry it's not gluten free but the gumbo is". She brought him the gumbo and he ate it. But it gets worse.
We came back 2 weeks later and the waitress said "none of our soups are gluten free". However I had to tell her what gluten was and she has to go ask the manager.
This place need some training on allergies before they kill someone. My friends next 3 days were hell because of this lack of training.
Had fried shrimp and catfish, as well as fries. Very good and did not get sick. Jennifer in bar area is great.
Yes
They 13 dedicated fryers for people with allergies. You just have to ask them not on the menu. Had the fried shrimp and they were awesome. I will be back!!!
Yes
They did not have a written gluten-free menu, but they had a gluten-free batter and dedicated fryer so that I could have fried shrimp! It was delicious! They also had grilled items. They were out of the gluten-free cheesecake so I had death by chocolate, which was a HUGE piece of fudgy chocolate cake.
