I’ve been here twice since being diagnosed with celiac. The first time I was so excited because they have a large gluten free menu and our server said they will take extra precautions in the kitchen. The wait staff will even say something is even “celiac safe.” The second time I spoke with the manager and felt far less confident. She told me that all the GF pasta is made along side the other pasta and pizza dough, so there is a high likelihood of cross contamination while being made. Additionally it’s a very small kitchen so cross contamination is likely. She said the raw fish appetizers are the safest bet. Most entrees are made on the grill where they all grill their breads so cross contamination. I ordered the fish and asked that they make it in a pan vs the grill which they did. For such a large GF menu they actually have very few celiac safe options.
They have a separate gluten free menu with most of the same items as the main menu. The pasta dishes are subbed out with a gluten free tagliatelle. There is a separate fryer for gf orders (for things like the potato churros which were insanely good!) the servers are very knowledgeable about keeping things gf. This place was sooo delicious. I had the oysters, potato churros, tuna tiradito, octopus, (my husband had the casarecce with braised rabbit), panqueque, chocolate hazelnut torte, and raspberry sorbet.
Martina is phenomenal! I feel like so many upscale restaurants you pay high prices for low portions and the price doesn't justify the quality (cough cough spoon and stable). Not Martina! Martina is mouthwatering good. You have to ask but they have a separate GF menu and the best pasta I've had at a restaurant (I had to triple clarify that it was gluten free it was so good). The service is also great, we were celebrating our anniversary and they even surprised us with a few free drinks. GET THE DESSERT, IT'S A MUST. Potato churros are also a must. Also very safe for celiacs.
The food was phenomenal. Many GF options, a separate GF menu. Our server was so knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. We tried the beef tongue bruschetta and Lobster pasta -both tasty. Also, the potato churros were our favorite along with the incredible dessert!!
Love this place. The server had to check a few times about certain items on the menu, but we love this place and I can find enough variety of things to choose from that I know are gluten free.
