I’ve been to Maru in East Lansing a few times and have always had a safe experience. The food is very good, it’s clean here, and the staff knows what they are doing—what more can you ask for?
While their GF menu has somehow disappeared, and the GF items aren’t numerous,our server today was unaffected by this and was able to still assist me tableside and tell me on the regular menu, item by item, what would be safe for me to eat. (Pretty much what I had previously, but don’t eat the miso soup because it does contain gluten!)
The kitchen will prepare things in a way to avoid CC and ensure that your food is safe if needed (my server asked me if I needed).
I was able to have a nice side salad and a chicken hibachi for lunch. The rolls were so tempting…..
All in all, I was happy once again! 10/10
Love Maru! I’ve gone here often and have always had a great experience. They are great with safety. Once they were using a different supplier for their miso soup base due to supply chain issues and wouldn’t serve it to me because they couldn’t verify the ingredients. I appreciate them taking great care to keep us safe!
Went for my Birthday dinner and they did not disappoint! We went during a busier time of the night and informed me it would be a little longer than usual to get my sushi but that was due to them taking extra precautions! Andrew was a wonderful server who helped me with Gluten free options even though they recently removed their exclusive gluten free menu.
