I love Masa Sushi! The staff is very kind, willing to answer questions, and does not rush you. The gluten-free menu is very detailed; ask for it when you are seated. The GF menu does not list the prices, so get a regular menu as well to see prices. There’s no upcharge for gluten-free.
Masa have gluten-free soy sauce, which they pour directly from the back into a bowl for you rather than bring bottles to the table. I appreciate this because I have, at other restaurants, experienced cross contamination from condiment bottles that are at the table. I have never gotten sick here and have been at least a dozen times.
Usually, I order a Philadelphia roll without avocado and split a gluten-free combo fried rice (steak, shrimp, and chicken) with my spouse. Their spicy edamame is also quite good, and their Hana brand sake is gluten-free.
Hibachi sauces are unfortunately not gluten-free, so if you’re someone who requires something like Yum Yum sauce or pink sauce, bring your own!
While I can’t speak to their other locations, I have always loved the Masa in Clear Lake and definitely recommend. I will include screenshots of the gluten-free menu that I was emailed as well.
