I ordered a burrito with a gluten free tortilla. I checked the receipt and it didn't have it noted on there, but my friend's did. I went up to check with her and her response was "oh, well it's already made" and she refused to give me what I ordered. This place is not safe. Do not go here!! Or if you do, make sure to shout your instructions idk lol
No
Knew enough to substitute an order for something that was gluten free. Their gluten free tortillas are great!
Yes
My favorite taqueria in the city, I order from here often (sometimes as much as two or three times a week). You can get most of their burritos as a bowl instead and they have gluten-free tortillas. Only thing is I wish they would label "GF" items and options on the menu so there'd be less confusion and more confidence for those of us who must adhere to a strict gluten free diet for health purposes. For example, they will tell you that the chips are corn... but there's no dedicated fryer. So use caution and your own knowledge of your dietary needs, but I've found Mateo's to be reliably gluten free for my choices and reliably delicious. Highly recommended.
I don't know if I would have gotten glutened or not. All I know is that I said "gluten free?" ten times and my boyfriend said it twice and the lady behind the counter had ZERO idea what we were saying, despite the fact that they have "gluten free tortilla" on the menu!
Fabulous and super gf and dairy free freindly here.
Burritos with gluten free tortilla is $1.50 extra with about a dozen choices. Tacos made with organic la palma corn tortillas, also should be GF? There are nachos and a guacamole but I did not ask about the fryer, because they have "crispy flour tortillas" for the quesadillas.
