Matteo's Howard Beach

I’ve been going to Matteo’s since I was a child. Their general menu is fantastic and I miss being able to eat the veal dishes. However, since being diagnosed I’ve gone three times and have had a decent experience each time

If you’re celiac, one of the few foods you can have here is the zucchini pasta. I’ve gotten sick from their normal gf pasta and other dishes that they have claimed were gf. Not all of the servers are knowledgeable on what is and isn’t gf, too. I was told that their tiramisu dessert was gf when a friend who is a chef later assured me it was not (he was right, I didn’t feel great after).

This is the type of restaurant that serves family style, so if you’re with a large group of people then maybe this place is right for you.

Gluten free pasta and grilled chicken were great. Very accommodating.
