Waitress seemed annoyed that I asked about gf options. Was told salad or shrimp and grits. Manager came out and explained the shrimp and grits isn’t gf but they could make a modification to it. Food was good and I didn’t get sick.

Nothing labeled on the menu, but staff could answer questions. Had a GF biscuit and an omelette, both pretty good.

Our waitress was very knowledgeable (I have gluten and dairy allergies) and she helped me come up with something I thought sounded yummy that wasn’t even on the menu! Super cute New Orleans themed on the inside too. Buns are Udis (gf/df) and they make gf biscuits in house!
Chef's wife is Celiac (me) so he's very familiar with GF cooking and the ins and outs of preventing cross contamination so just be sure to let your server know your level of sensitivity. The servers are really educated on GF as well, huge plus. Highly recommend!
Yes
Everything is cross contaminated, so if you’re a celiac, I wouldn’t risk.
This is my go to breakfast place every time I am in town. We have always had a great experience here and I have never gotten sick. Love their food and their coffee!

Our waitress was totally clueless and downright rude when I asked for her feedback and direction on what could be deemed GF. Food was fine but there are many better options in this town. Skip it.
We had dinner there and all the food was great and reasonably priced. My husband is from New Orleans and he said it reminded him of some of the food down there. He had a flank steak special and I had blackened catfish, which tasted more like Cajun catfish. The grits and gf bread was amazing.

Was visiting Asheville for the weekend and wanted to try out a few of the GF friendly restaurants. Mayfel's had a fun atmosphere and the food was excellent. The burger itself was fantastic but the GF bun was okay. It stayed together decently but had the profile of a biscuit. Definitely worth a try!
Staff is knowledgeable about GF and can help choose safe menu items. Gluten-free biscuits are made from scratch in-house and are OMG DELICIOUS. Excellent breakfast!!!
