This is the only dedicated gluten-free bakery in the area. The ham and cheese savory rolls are amazing. Come here early on the weekends for croissants.

Came for lunch at 1:00 and was told they had run out of bread. They only had a few pastries in the case and no lunch items with bread available. We had purposely driven here for my daughter (Celiac) to have lunch. She was in tears. Very disappointing

This place needs to stay open as long g as possible. It is the most tasteful, delightful, dedicated gluten free bakery and tiny cafe that could have ever blessed this area. I can recommend literally every item they make =D

So great to have a safe, delicious bakery during our vacation! What a pleasure to tell my daughter she could pick anything and not Gabe the usual restrictions. We visited twice and came away with boxes of pastries, muffins and donuts for the whole extended family of ten. The puff pastry is amazing (blueberry and savory)! Thank you, Melinda!

Holy cow! Standouts were the bear claw, donuts, and little puff/croissant like cookies with chocolate filling. Will always swing by when I’m in town. Very nice service too. Also they said no gluten ever comes into bakery so should be celiac safe.

If I still lived in town, I would be here all of the time. Best texture rolls (I tried the cinnamon and the savory bacon cheddar) I’ve had since diagnosis. Perfect blend of soft and chewy. Everything else I tried so far was good, but the rolls were my favorite. I will be back.

The savory rolls are amazing! Think of a cinnamon roll but without the cinnamon and sugar but with bacon and cheese instead (or whatever the flavor of the day is). The sweets are good, too.

My intolerant partner and I (Celiac) come here on the weekends before or after surfing. Doughnuts, cheesy rolls, cheesy croissant and danishes are my top favorites! You have to come early to get the croissants though!

Their croissants are AMAZING!! Also love the savory Monkey breads and pull a parts. Completely delicious and safe. Staff is friendly. Get there early as they sell things quickly. If I had one wish it would be that they would ship their treats to where I live so I wasn’t only limited to them when I’m in California.

most amazing gluten free bakery I've encountered yet! If it wasn't a soley gluten free bakery, I would have been concerned I was served a gluten one! seriously that good. my favorite so far was the apple danish. the maple donut and fresh out of the oven vanilla with chocolate frosting was amazing as well. The sandwich bread is the best yet. highly recommend. They even do breakfast and lunch sandwiches as well! so you can get treats and a meal. I am celiac and it is the perfect place.

It's been so long since I've been able to confidently go out for breakfast.... and I also ordered lunch and some snacks to go. I will definitely be back again! A must do for Celiacs in the area!

Sorry for the very tardy review, Melinda. My East coast hometown has a significant void, so when I go on vacation, I seek out GF bakeries as a special treat. Last October, we spent a glorious week in Santa Cruz. Meeting Melinda and sampling her fare were trip highlights. Even my gluten-eating husband loved Melinda’s donuts and the berry strudel. Highly recommended!!

We went late in the day so most of the baked goods were sold out, but the mint & coconut donut was divine! It was the perfect appetizer to the ham sandwich ;) Staff was very friendly and helpful with my additional allergen needs.

Their sandwich bread is fantastic! I am going to pick some up every time I am in that area.

Melinda’s has always been a cornerstone of the gluten free community in Santa Cruz. Been coming here since they opened and they never fail to deliver on the goods! Cinnamon rolls are substantially spiced inside and loaded with icing outside. Donuts are delicious. And the ham and cheese rolls are amazing. Besides the food, the customer service has always been excellent. Thanks for all you do!

My husband (who does not have to eat gluten free) even commented on how good the gf sandwich bread was! We also enjoyed a maple glazed donut and ginger snaps. All wonderful! I love finding dedicated gf places when traveling!

I am always excited to visit GF bakeries when I'm in new areas so I had high hopes for this place. I bought a little of everything croissants, donuts, sandwich, and danish. All items were moist and tasted fine but each one was soooo dense! These baked goods lacked the light and flakey-ness of their gluten counterparts. Yes, it is rare to find that key factor in GF goods but I assure you there are bakeries out there that achieve this!

I love Melindas! You have to try the butter croissants! They sell fast, so I always call them in the morning to put them on hold for me. Everything else is awesomely delicious as well!

Melinda is a sweetheart, and Melinda's (as in the food) is top notch. Forget the "other" GF bakery in Santa Cruz, and just come here, people! Cakes and donuts...yum and double YUM!!!

Amazing dairy free selection. I had the cinnamon scroll with dairy free icing, so delicious, highly recommended. The owner is lovely and they know the ins and outs of their food.

This is the best GF bakery we've ever eaten at hands down! The cinnamon roll was amazing as were the pumpkin muffins, blueberry muffins, egg sandwich and pumpkin maple bar. We talked to Melinda and she's gluten free, dairy free and latex free as well so no worries here for us. This is a must stop if you're going through this area! Highly recommend - you won't be disappointed. All of the staff is VERY friendly and helpful!

We were lucky enough to get cinnamon rolls right out of the oven. They were incredible soft, chewy, gooey goodness! The chocolate brownie was so rich and velvety, even my chocoholic Jax couldn't finish it all ( though he had a fun time trying!!). The service was wonderful; everyone was kind and up beat. If you are in the area, make time to stop here! I

The word amazing does not even do this place justice. Best bread and croissants I have ever had. Great service and nice people. Looking forward to trying other items!

Amazing chocolate croissants and cinnamon rolls. I love to order their turkey sandwich with avocado and cheese. Bread tastes great. We eat here once a week since we moved to CA, and have enjoyed everything we have tasted, including muffins, cookies, and donuts.

Fantastic! As a family we are gluten free and my son is egg free. They had delicious GF vegan donuts. Their sign said they can make most menu items with substitutes. But call ahead with special requests. We were vacationing in the area. Super glad I checked this app while there.

I consider myself a critical foodie as my family (family of four gf) and I do extensive travel around exploring GF bakeries. As a person who does a lot of GF baking (and i think well) I am always baffled by those who bake and say "it's good FOR GLUTEN FREE". There's should be no "for gluten free" The food here is FANTASTIC!!! We've been sampling most of the beautiful assortment and here's how it goes.... Donuts: chocolate with vanilla frosting, vanilla with chocolate frosting and maple frosted donuts. They were soft, airy and flavorful! Great frosting as well. Family agrees, best GF donuts we've had in 9 years. Croissants: plain (unfortunately there were no chocolate or ham and cheese left, but I clearly understand why). Buttery, airy and flakey. Great flavor I always appreciate a bakery that makes a real croissant as it takes 2 days and most say its too much work. Great croissant! Cinnamon bun: Words can't truly describe the amazing tastes. Topped with a butter cream... Just melts in your mouth. Apple turnover: stuffed with a mix of savory apples and cinnamon, combined with its soft crust, it was delicious. The last was a ham, egg and cheese (I know, boring combination as it normally as other things like onion, avocados, tomatoes and spinach) sandwich (on a white sandwich style bread). Ok, you have to listen carefully cause my description because it's different. Simple sandwich and nothing stands out. Let me explain that, because that is actually a good thing. Usually when I get a gf sandwich... It's about what's in it as I either take of half of the bread or both sides. In this case, the bread just blended in perfectly. It wasn't bad and didn't over power the filling. It was just perfect sandwich bread I highly recommend this place and look forward to traveling to this part of the country again so we can visit Melinda's again.

Loved finding this on our spring break trip to the area! Stopped by for four breakfast sandwiches. On our way to a surf lesson. Sandwiches from scratch took a little time to make (understandably). Also ordered the cinnamon buns and a chocolate donut. ALL were yummy! Peanut free as well :-)
