The crust is just OK (and pricey for the size). But it is nice to be able to get a pizza out with a lot of different toppings. However sometimes they don't seem to cook the GF pizzas well enough.
Though they have delicious options and have always asked if it was for an allergy, my husband and I have always been sick after eating at this location.
My husband has celiac disease and I am gluten intolerant and we both absolutely love Mellow Mushroom's GF pizza!!! We usually go there once a week it is that good. Their staff always ask if it's an allergy or a preference and make sure to notate that it's an allergy and provide us with their blue gf plates. We like our crust really crispy so occasionally we send it back to be cooked more, but it is always delicious! :)
Crust was definitely gluten free I had the veggie pizza so the sauce either contained gluten or it was cross contaminated. I had one slice and fifteen minutes later I was throwing up for thirty minutes.
They have a little gluten free menu that still includes all cool names of their foods and such, quite a fun gluten free dining experience. Especially because I'm a teenager, I love there GF pizza, with some bacon. They were very friendly and happy to help meet my dietary restrictions
Great pizza and very knowledgeable staff they always ask if the pizza is for an allergy or preference which I love.
They have separate gluten free (blue) plates, prep area, salt/pepper/crushed red pepper/parmesan cheese toppings. Not any options other than pizza are gluten free, but the pizza is delicious.
pizza! safe food, knowledgeable staff
I’ve never gotten sick here and it’s totally safe. I just personally think the GF pizza sucks lol. Its flaccid and bland. Try Joseph’s or Blaze or V Pizza instead. 😂
You can have anything (in the pizza section if the menu) with a gluten free crust and dairy free cheese. I got a non gluten free pizza once but I think it was an honest mistake since I go there a lot and is the first time it happened.
This place bent over backwards to make sure we had the information we needed. My son has both celiac and type 1 diabetes. So after we ordered the gluten free pizza, I asked the server if she could find the carb count for the crust. I really confused her on that one, because she kept talking about their gluten free practices. But she said she'd find out, and then the manager and the owner both came to our table to help us. My son is usually embarrassed when I ask too many questions at a restaurant, but they made him feel important and they really took the time to listen and find the information. The manager had a background in health services, so that made my son feel more at ease that he understood the questions I was asking. In hindsight, I found the carbs on their website quicker than the manager found it in his book, but they were helpful nonetheless. My son really liked the pizza and I appreciated that they prepared it in a separate area with clean hands, new gloves, and a clean apron (according to their menu).
I’ve gone to this location twice because they boast having a celiac safe gluten free pizza. Both times I got sick, despite making the server aware of my genuine intolerance. I’ve only ever tried the pizza, not brave enough to try a salad which is the only other gluten free option
This location is closed. Too bad because I loved their gf pizza
The first time I ordered pizza I received a pizza with few toppings. I took it back & they added more toppings but did not cook it - yuck! I gave them another chance today. We ordered pizzas at work. My gf pizza was the only one not delivered. So I sat & watched everyone else eat. When they finally brought my pizza it was ice cold & the crust was not cooked. Never ordering from them again.
Best Gluten-free and Dairyfree pizza I have had! One of my favorites!
Separate safe menu—anything from the gf list is handled safely. Yummy pizza! I devoured it the one I got—feta, roasted tomatoes, pesto—mmmm
I ordered gluten free everything and I’ve been sick all afternoon. The plate I was given had about a thousand cut marks in it & the waitress didn’t use a pen and paper to take my order. I felt like she didn’t really care about getting my order right and clearly neither did the staff. The crust was GF but I don’t think they have a clue about cross contamination. I’ll never eat there again— feeling like this just isn’t worth it.
The gf pizza used to be great here but the last time I went it was barely mediocre. The options have changed and were more limited along with rude wait staff.
I changed my review yesterday because their ovens on Tuesday and began cooking the gf pizzas on the bottom conveyor belt exposing it to gluten from the other pies. Well, after contacting corporate today, within hours my husband and daughter were invited to the store to meet with the regional and corporate managers to address the issue. The GF pizzas are placed on 1" elevated screens and are now cooked on the top belt of the oven. They talked in depth about safety protocols and addressed every concern. They have taken every concern seriously. I am grateful to everyone involved.
While I appreciate the dedicated GF preparation and a pizza I didn’t get sick from, the crust was nothing to write home about and got soggy at the end. Also the pizza sauce is pretty bland. We don’t have this chain in MI but I’ve had way better GF pizzas elsewhere. We’ll pass in the future
I’m a celiac (also no dairy or soy) and got really excited when I saw all of the GF and DF options on their menu. My waitress asked if I would need my pizza prepared in a separate space and everything! However, I still felt a little weird after I left so I’m not going to call this one 100% safe.
Forget being gluten free, if you don’t want food poisoning don’t eat here!! I couldn’t even get a refund after puking my guts out from their gluten free pizza. Response to a yelp review asked me to email, but my email got no response. They don’t care about food safety, nevertheless allergies.
Some of the best pizza we have ever had! Both me and my brother have celiac, and we were impressed by how the menu writes out the gluten free procedures. They use a separate prep table, new gloves, new aprons, and separate utensils each time someone orders gluten free. Personally, I have not had pizza that tastes that good since before I was diagnosed. It was like someone took my favorite pizza and made it into a gluten free version! The crust was a little crispy, but that is to be expected of thin crust. The toppings are fresh, the atmosphere is exciting, and the servers are super friendly. 10/10 Only complaint is that it’s pretty expensive, yet still completely worth it.
Tired of self-diagnosed "Celiacs" on here giving 5 star reviews. There's gluten in this. Coming from an authentic, super sensitive Celiac, folks.
Their menu is marked with what can be made gluten-free. I had the veggie pizza. The crust was ok (cardboard texture) but I didn’t get sick and it was very filling!
Staff was very knowledgeable about celiac and the gf offerings. The server explained that not all of the typically gf items (like pineapples) are on their separate gf line but the ones indicated in the menu are (pineapples don’t belong on pizza anyway). My daughter was very pleased with both the flavor and the portion size of her small pizza. Thanks! We will return!
