They took extra care in making sure that the pizza was not contaminated with gluten in any way!
Can’t cook a GF pizza without burning it. This has happened multiple times. Tired of giving chances. Excuse is always that it’s a thin crust. Must be poor management. It’s not rocket science, watch it!! Plenty of places are able to cook a gf pizza without burning it. Mellow has great protocols in place for Celiac peeps, but if you can’t cook it...ugh! My advice, try another location. This one stinks.
Got extremely sick. This location has gotten lax under new management.
The GF pizza was good. Service very friendly and informed. Dedicated GF area and technics.
A great pizza! Knowledgeable staff, dedicated oven, prep/cutting area, and very good gf ingredients and choices. I have celiac and have just found a place I can enjoy pizza!
GF pizza that is good!! one of my favs. Dedicated oven.
Good gluten free pizza. Dedicated preparation area and oven!
Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Waiter went into detail about a separate oven & prep station. Told us staff at this location is required to watch a video detailing how to handle gluten free. Food was delicious. We’ve eaten here 3 times over the years and my celiac daughter has had no problems.
Okay this place was a total disappointment. They charge way too much for way too little and not a lot of flavor. I didn’t care much for the crust and the pizza was smaller than I’m used too for GF personal pies also it cost $17! I’m never going back. I also had a bad experience where they charged my card $46 for the $17 pizza...
My daughter began a gf/df diet almost 5 weeks ago, and she was really wanting pizza again. We stopped in on the way to our movie and really enjoyed our meal. The menu lists each item that is gluten free and has dairy free vegan cheeze. There was a bit of sticker shock to get the 10 inch gluten free pizzas with simple toppings but for an occasional treat for my 14yo, it’s worth it. She also loved the music, decor, and the overall vibe.
My husband has celiac disease and this is one of the places in Burlington that he’s comfortable and safe. The GF pizza is now a personal pan size, which didn’t bother him at all. One time, they ran out of gf pizza sauce and the server came out and ask us to confirm if he’s allergic. They accommodated my husband and use an oil based sauce instead.
Best Mellow Mushroom I have ever been to. The server was extremely knowledgeable on Celiac Disease and the options that both my daughter and I could have. We both had gluten free pizza and it was awesome! Our pizza came within 30 min hot. Recommend eating here for sure.
Highly Recommend!!!! I love their pizza and it’s celiac safe. I typically get the “Big White,” on their gluten free crust. I often add jalapeños and or pepperoni and have had no issues. I would be careful or research if you decide to try the “mighty meat,” etc. Also I had their house salad with vingerette and I felt great. And I’m super sensitive.
Felt pretty confident in their gluten-free knowledge, with items carefully marked on the menu, good server knowledge, and reassurances that they take all necessary precautions. They even showed us the list of ingredients in the ice cream and told us they were opening a brand new one for our daughter to ensure no previous cross contamination. Location itself looks nicer outside - the interior was tired and not very cozy feeling. Booths had taped up rips, etc. But food was great and better than expected. Huge portions. Good experience.
Yummy pizza. Had no negative reactions. Staff was knowledgable and friendly. Had gluten free king cake from a local bakery during mardi gras season when I visited on 2/16/18 for my birthday (which they subbed in place of other birthday desert). Suggest to call ahead if you want king cake to see if it's currently available.
Nima tested and proven gluten free. Most encouraging part is that the restaurant takes responsibility of gluten free food and details the procedure they opt for such an order in the menu itself. And great selections of pizza. I’m glad I tested it and I can go there again.
We have been here several times and have always had a good experience. Of course the pizzas are great! One time we tried the wings and they were awesome! I like that they usually have a couple of gluten free beers and ciders to choose from.
Dedicated GF prep area and oven section. manager was there and went back and took photos for me. my son has celiacs and I have a sensitivity so I am always on the lookout. Manager was very knowledgeable about cross contamination et al. Pizza was a thin crust with great taste.
Yummy options and the staff is very willing to go to the ends of the earth to make sure everything is GF and answer any questions!
This place was excellent. I am just visiting the city of Savannah and haven’t found too many places that I would agree are really gluten and dairy free friendly. Mellow Mushroom has excellent choices and their staff is very knowledgeable or is willing to ask. I would recommend this place to anyone.
This gets 5 stars on safety and zero on the pizza. I remember the old days when gf pizza crust tasted like corrugated cardboard boxes. Mellow Mushroom hasn’t progressed since those days. Three friends with celiac disease agreed that it was the worst crust we had eaten in 10 years. However, nobody got sick.
The staff was educated on Celiac disease. They also marked my ticket as "allergy." I ate at Mellow Mushroom prior to my diagnosis and happy to say I can continue eating my favorite Cosmic Karma pizza again, just on a flatbread. It's still quite delicious. They claimed the dressings were GF too, but I didn't try them.
I really, really want to love this place, but I can't. I've eaten the GF pizza here on four occasions. Three times it has made me sick to some degree. (I can’t believe I kept going back, but I was just that desperate to eat pizza in a restaurant that my friends and family liked going to.) It has to be from cross contamination. If you are gluten sensitive, it might be okay, but it's not for those with celiac.
Pizza is delicious and it is a really fun place for kids to go. My kids said that this is their favorite pizza place by far.
while I think they may have tried harder than most to make a gluten free pizza I'm far too sick for this to be considered gluten free. the food was also pretty expensive for being a pizza joint. $15 for 4 slices of pizza is a pretty spendy poison.
I go here all the time. I used to be in love with their gf pizza until they changed the crust size from a medium to a small. I never got sick from the pizza; however, one time I felt glutened after eating an order of wings (though they tried to argue with me that they didn’t think that was possible, which was very annoying🙄). Overall, a good place for tasty gf pizza and drinks. It can get very busy during rush hour.
As usual, my experiences with mellow mushroom never fail to disappoint. I love them and I have never gotten sick
