After reading other reviews and calling the restaurant who assured me they could do gluten free, the server said the restaurant is not “celiac safe.” She said she was gluten free and when I pressed her for what she felt comfortable eating, she couldn’t name one thing off the menu. She said because the kitchen staff isn’t fluent in English and doesn’t understand preventing cross contamination, everything is prepared on shared surfaces. I’m sure the food is good, but better safe than sorry. I appreciate her honesty.
Pros:
-they have gluten free buns, pizza crust, and pasta
-lamb burger was pretty good, kiddo was happy with his (gluten) pizza
Cons:
-front line staff are clueless about cross contamination and gave me a deer in the headlights look when I asked questions
-Fries and tater tots are fried in a shared fryer
-service was mediocre; water glass was never refilled
-prices are steep for what it is (pretty typical of the area though)
-insufficient restrooms with long line
Just got told that the pizza crusts have wheat in them and the pasta has wheat as well. Might be safe for celiacs but not for those of us with wheat allergies.
Saw on the app they had gluten free beer, so that was sort of the deciding factor to head there. They have 1 currently- Daura Damm, which I suppose is better than what I’m generally finding (Celiac diagnosis about 3 weeks ago). The online menu shows gluten free buns available for handhelds and gluten free pasta, but the only gluten free mention on the physical menu was the crust option for the pizza. The Mediterranean pizza was a really good mix of toppings (and a lot of them). The crust was also better than the only other one I’ve tried to date.
We had an amazing dinner! Our waiter was top notch. So helpful and gave me options. I went with a burger and sweet potato fries. I tried a gluten free beer —turns out being gluten free my entire adult life it’s just not my taste. I did have a delicious cider on tap.
Great brunch on the weekends. They had a gluten free bun I used with eggs Benedict, it was super yummy. And bottomless mimosas!
