Minimal gluten free menu options and no dedicated fryer
I ate here this evening and it was great. The server was very knowledgeable about what I could eat as a celiac. I had the elote for an app and carnitas dish for my meal. Carnitas was delicious. I am a very sensitive celiac and no reaction. The chips are not gluten free and I was advised that corn tortilla for tacos due to cross contamination was not suggested.

No gluten free menu. Chips aren’t gluten free. So enjoy dragging a soft corn tortilla through some guacamole

Server and chef were unhelpful and unaccommodating when I explained I have Celiac and requested the ceviche without the tostada shell. The chef refused to alter the order and serve the ceviche in a bowl or plate, since the tostada was gluten contaminated. I've enjoyed eating at other Mercados and was very disappointed that this branch was so unhelpful. Maybe it's just because they were busy or having a bad day, but for a place this nice to refuse to alter a dish for someone w an allergy was upsetting. I ended up getting a cucumber salad (without fried cilantro) because I didn't feel safe eating anything else.

There are only a few items on the menu that are gluten free so it's a bit limited. But what is GF is fabulous - guac, carnitas. Their team is very aware & graciously takes questions. Do note that their tortilla chips are not GF, which is unusual. I had written Mercado off after going to happy hour & having DH rear its ugly head. The next time I went (friends really wanted to go) I spoke with the waitress & she helped me figure out it was the chips.

This place is amazing! The carnitas are delicious as well as the Mahi Mahi. The guacamole is fabulous as well. Everyone in the establishment has extensive knowledge of gluten and celiac friendly foods. Some servers also have gluten allergies. Not to mention everyone here has great hair!
