I ordered the yucca fries and had a reaction to it, I'm assuming from cross contamination.
They do not have a gluten free menu, and do not claim to provide gluten free options. That should be removed from FindMeGlutenFree. You can get drinks there, and everything else would be guaranteed to have cross contamination. It's a shame because so many of the dishes would otherwise be gluten free if not for all the pastries and sandwiches.
This place is not safe for celiac and doesn't pretend to be. Stick with drinks and eat elsewhere. Pdq next door has good allergy handling.
Mi Apa has delicious foods, but they are not celiac friendly (nor do they claim to be). The folks there use the same grills and other cooking implements to cook both wheat-based sandwiches and arepas. There is also no gluten-free menu. Find me gluten free should update their information.
This may be fine for people choosing to avoid gluten, but is NOT for those with celiacs. It does NOT have a gf menu though find me gf shows it does. Further, when I asked several employees explicitly said they did NOT have gf items. They told me that even food without gluten ingredients were prepared on the same presses, grills, and surfaces as items with gluten. My gluten eating family members had a good meal, but I had to find a safe place to eat. I am very grateful for the honesty of the employees and recommend this for people who can eat gluten, but this is definitely not for those with celiacs.
I had a DELICIOUS stuffed arepa. I have celiac and had no reaction!!
