Food was absolutely delicious! Most of the menu is gluten free, so much so they have the items that contain gluten marked. Server was knowledgeable. I am very sensitive and did not get sick - will be back for sure.

I got sick! This used to be my favorite restaurant and I’m so bummed about this but the last 2 times I’ve gotten glutened! I think it must be their fryer. Everything we got was fried. Nachos, wings, fish tacos… I think someone must be putting flour tortillas in their fryer or something. I have been here like 50 times and been fine until these last two times. Now I’m up sick in the middle of the night vomiting & diarrhea. So sad to lose Mi Vida. Their food & drinks are so good.

It’s a joyful dining experience as a celiac when there are so few gluten containing things on a menu that they mark those as (g) rather than what is GF! So much really great options on the brunch, and dinner menus —we went a small plates route rather than entrees so we could sample a lot of things! Here’s what stood out most to my boyfriend and I:
-The fish tacos were 10/10 — best part of the meal
-Guacamole and chips 10/10, perfectly seasoned. You’ll be tempted to keep munching away but pace yourself to save room for all the deliciousness ahead!
-The duck containing app (can’t remember the name) was really delicious though I personally would order it again with less sauce or sauce on the side as it overpowered the star of the show, the sweet and savory duck filling!
-The yellowfin ceviche was fresh and flavorful
-The shrimp cocktail dish wasn’t quite what we expected. Still tasty but more flavorful and spicy than we were looking for.
The service was wonderful and the views of the river from the top floor are worth the trek up the stairs! Highly recommend, felt super safe as a sensitive celiac and very excited to be able to dine somewhere with so many safe options, to the point where stressing “celiac/gluten allergy” *eye roll* barely felt necessary.

Everything was so delicious. I got the Birria tacos and my fiancé got the carne tacos. Drinks and services were great as well. The menus states which items have gluten in them which is only about 3-4 items.

I loved this restaurant. The chips are homemade, tacos are delicious, I was able to eat plantains which I have not had in a long time. View was spectacular. Only had about 4 items that CONTAINED gluten, they marked the food WITH gluten with a G. Best tacos I’ve ever eaten.🌮🌮 Waiter was trained and knowledgeable about celiac and other allergies. The food was served by the chef and the manager came out to check on us. Amazing experience!

Always a good sign when the things WITH gluten are marked on the menu because there are so few.
Queso fundido was excellent! We also got empanadas, two types of enchiladas, the tacos, and the shrimp cocktail. Great serving sizes and taste.
It is also down on the Wharf which is a very cool area and all the staff were very friendly and prompt.
My daughter is a highly symptomatic celiac and she had zero problems eating here. Would HIGHLY recommend!

This place was absolutely delicious and very safe for celiac or severe gluten intolerance. Almost everything is already gluten free and they were extremely accommodating for gluten allergies, especially with our kids who need more mild, not spicy Mexican. This place was authentic Mexican, the margaritas were so good, and the service was friendly and efficient. This isn’t gluten-free related, but the restaurant was also very pretty with super cool decorations and outdoor seating. We actually came here twice on our trip to DC because it was such a great experience and even though I’m very gluten sensitive, I did not get sick, which is the most important part.

I’m not sure why this place has so many good reviews. They cook the flour and corn tortillas on the same surface. The waiter was extremely nice, and asked the cooks so many questions about cross contamination for me. After eating the queso fundito with corn tortillas, which I was told was safe for celiacs, he told me I was not able to order any of the tacos due to the corn tortillas being cooked in the same place as the flour ones. At that point I knew I had already been glutenated, and I was extremely sick a few hours later. I ended up ordering the wings and fried plantains, which the chef said was safe. I was there with a friend that has a lot of allergies (soy, dairy, pork, beef) and she had a great time. She wasn’t able to eat anything fried due to it being cooked in soybean oil. Extremely disappointing for celiacs

We ate here, and the waiter was excellent about checking to make sure my food didn’t contain allergens (he asked the chef to make sure that my food was also dairy free, and came to discuss options when it turned out my selection contained dairy).
Also, the majority of the menu is gluten-free, so they mark which foods DO contain gluten!

We had been here years ago and remembered how good it was. Went for lunch and sat outside this time. Enjoyed a frozen margarita and the fish tacos. The fish is breaded in rice flour and crispy with a Mexican slaw. Excellent. My margarita was brought out with a paper straw and I’m not entirely sure about those yet, manager immediately took it back and remade it. Then a little while later he returned to my table with the box of straws and the manufacturer FAQs on their website and assured me for next time, that there was no gluten in the straws. What excellent service! We will be back for sure. By the way, I’m a highly sensitive celiac. Enjoy!

Nice restaurant. The fryer is dedicated gluten-free which is always great. I had chips and guac and a side of sweet potato fries; both were delicious. There's a lot of other gf options, like tacos and carne asada. Only a few items on the menu actually have gluten in them. In fact, they label which items HAVE gluten instead of which ones do not!

Delicious food! Nearly everything on the menu is gluten-free. They mark the items that have gluten with a little g-very few of those. Started with Platanos Fritos, meals of Empanadas de Mariscos and Enchiladas Suiza, finishing with Fan de Vanilla. Very comfortable with all choices, make their own tacos, tortillas, empanada dough…no wheat. Food and sauces do have heat. Highly recommend.

ASK YOUR SERVER TO CHECK IF THINGS ARE GF. i ordered the fish tacos, but when my server double checked to make sure if it was gf, he found out that the coating it is fried in is not, and so all of the fried foods are cross contaminated (except for chips). so the menu is misleading for celiacs, but my server was very knowledgeable and helpful and the food was delicious

They also had very good vegetarian options and a few vegan ones.
While it is more expensive you get good servings and great food. Definitely recommend!

Extremely knowledgeable staff, excellent service, delicious food. Almost the entire menu is GF so they actually mark the ones that are NOT GF on the menu. Best tortillas you'll find. I've had a couple different types of enchiladas and tacos, chips & guac with no issues.
Yes
95% of the menu is gf and risk of cc is very low. I've never had an issue eating here and the food is really good.
Most of the menu is gluten free. It marks which items CONTAIN gluten. Dedicated fryer. Food is pretty good. It was nice to be able to share plates at a family meal out and not worry about getting sick.

So safe and delicious that we returned twice for lunch in just 2 days! Knowledgeable staff, great service & but best of all, my celiac daughter could eat Mexican food for the first time in 6 years without fears of cross-contamination!
Yes
Absolutely delicious. Staff extremely knowledgeable. The entire menu is gluten free- with only 3 exclusions!!!! They have a separate fryer now, because they were worried about cross contamination!!! How incredible?!! everything on the menu is so yummy! You have to go!! Beautiful restaurant, ambience is gorgeous and the view is magical! Like, you have to go!!
