Review of Michael's Restaurant

I don't live in Bloomington but occasionally shop there, and I was very pleased to discover Michael's in downtown Bloomington. It's a historic old building, and the interior of the restaurant is spacious and relaxing, with pleasant music playing.While there is not a GF menu per sé, the proprietor is knowledgeable and helpful with the menu choices. He has a relative who is GF, and he understands cross contamination issues also. The extensive menu contains many steak, chicken, fish, and pork entrées that can be prepared GF. The pasta offered as a side with many of these dishes can be subbed with rice or potato.There is a nightly dinner buffet and a Sunday brunch buffet that offer great variety. I didn't get the buffet on my first visit, but I definitely would the next time. After looking it over I realized that it offered a number of options that would have been safe for me.We will definitely go back!
