Awesome sandwiches for a celiac family! The bread (gf focaccia when we visited) was wonderful, and the options and process inspired confidence. They do use the same oven for toasting gf sandwich bread, but indicated they used a separate shelf and pan. Our kids loved the highly adaptable “kid-wich” option. We are very particular and this place was great.
Marry me, Middle Child. Sandwiches are amazing, GF options are clearly marked, they distinguish between GF preference and GF celiac and will change their gloves (and celiac distinction is printed in red on the ticket / receipt). A bit expensive, for sure, but they're going the extra mile. The focaccia they're using from HiFidelity is sturdy (doesn't fall apart like most GF bread options) AND delicious.
Get there before 11!! The lunch rush was insane. There was no line when I got there, but with in 5 mins it was out the door. It took 30 mins to get my sandwich. I don’t know if it was the rush or because they changed gloves & what not. Delicious sandwich! Bread was a bit hard & fell apart in bigger chunks.
I usually love middle child. I always felt safe here as a celiac. However I tried ordering online for pick up today and while they have an option of gluten free allergy, I was unable to choose that one and the only available option is “for preference.” Kind of disheartening to be honest.
AMAZING FOOD, VIBES, and LABELS! Can clearly tell what is a gf option and what is not.
Great gluten free food and service! I got a breakfast sandwich and added bacon to it. The potato bread was crispy, taste great, held everything in the middle, and didn’t get soggy or break!! They had a total separate area to make the gluten free food that was very clean and avoided cross contamination. I didn’t get sick. I’d eat here again!!
During busy times you may have to wait a bit longer because they clean the grill before making your food (specify it's an allergy though or they might not) but it's so worth it! they're gluten free bread is very herby and flavorful. Also they sell their sandwich pickles- highly recommended grabbing some of those.
DELICIOUS. The GF is somehow awesome. It’s busy as heck but worth the wait. They are very careful about cleaning a surface to make the sandwich on. Haven’t gotten sick either time I ate there. Sometimes they run out of the GF bread, though, so make sure you ask before waiting in line for a long time.
Popped into Middle Child as soon as they opened for breakfast. Got the Reuben on GF - best sandwich I can remember having in years. Housemade corned beef was delicious. The bread was excellent - a nice focaccia style, so it really held up beautifully to the sauerkraut and sauce. Do not pass on a side of hash brown! This was the most perfect Golden, crispy, creamy rectangle of fried beauty I have ever eaten. A little grated onion in with the potato for more savory flavor.
wow! these sandwiches are amazing. these might be the best gf sandwiches i have ever had actually. i tried the blt (messy but delicious) and the shopsin club and couldnt even decide which i loved more. i appreciate that they made an effort to get quality gf bread (tastes like its probably taffets), it makes such a difference to not be eating an udis frozen roll. i am so happy to have found this place, as a very sensitive eater i don’t have a ton of tasty options, where i don’t have to feel worried to bring non-gf eaters because i know it will be delicious for them too.
I trust this place with my gluten free life. They have a separate area for making gluten free sandwiches and are very careful. Just make sure you indicate on your order you have celiac and need them to prep it separately, they will 100% do it. The sandwiches are amazing and I’ve never gotten sick here. (I am Super sensitive celiac)
Amazing food and gluten free bread that does not suck! Super friendly staff who will respond honestly as to their abilities to make your food GF!
will prepare gluten-free food separately in a dedicated gluten-free space after changing gloves!
best gluten-free sandwiches EVER. truly an incredible experience. holy, even.
They prepare the food in a separate area of the kitchen. One person will prepare it in that area to avoid cross contamination. When you order the food, they will ask if you have celiac/need it prepared separately.
The bread is amazing!! I had a hard time believing it was GF at first. I usually get the grilled cheese but they have been out of it for some time.
The staff is friendly!
