My husband and I have eaten at this location about 4 times previously without issue. Today for some reason we had repeat poor service when it comes to eating gluten free.
I always inform the server that I will need the gluten free menu as I have celiac disease. I ordered the chirashi bowl, which clearly states on the menu that to make it gluten free they sub out the tomago and marinated mushrooms. The bowl I received clearly had mushrooms and tomago so it was sent back and remade.
Then for dessert we ordered the turtle cheesecake (which is delicious by the way, it’s made by Wow! Factor Desserts here https://www.wowfactordesserts.com/gluten-free/gluten-free-turtle-cheescake) and for some reason I cannot fathom they serve it with a regular gluten-full Pocky stick on the side?? We pointed this out to the server and he was very confused as the why this would be an issue. He didn’t really seem to understand what gluten free meant, but clearly neither did whoever was working in the kitchen that day.
We will likely not be returning unfortunately, I only really give restaurants one chance when it comes to cross contamination.
