Long a fan of the Vancouver Miku, I was curious about the Toronto location. In a nutshell, similarly great quality but a surprisingly shorter list of gluten free options. The Vancouver location has the lead on a great view, but also on the variety of selections it turns out. Appetizers are basically limited to edamame beans (no miso soup or the other vegetable dishes). The oshi sushi is GF (and equally good I would say) and the nigiri and sashimi menus include lots of GF. But no GF tamari sauce strangely. Servers were good and celiac aware. Overall good experience but a bit disappointed by the more limited menu.

Server and manager were both aware of GF options and double checked everything with the kitchen and me. I felt well taken care of. Food was absolutely delicious to boot!

Some serving staff are very well informed, some are not. The sashimi lunch is the safest, the sushi is not. The kitchen does get allergy orders out first, and seemed to make a few substitutions. Unfortunately, I did get glutened as I was served the miso soup (after declining it and asking if it was GF), a second server assured me it was gluten free. I ended up having a reaction a few hours later. When double checking the menu later, miso soup is not marked as GF, so definitely some inconsistencies with server allergy knowledge.

Amazing gluten free aburi sushi and regular sushi and sashimi options. They offer gf modifications to most of their sushi, and have gf soy sauce available. Only downside is they don’t have many gf starter Options. Staff were very knowledgeable and careful and labeled everything in my Takeout Order
