I love the quality of the steak in Miller and Carter. They have an extensive gluten free menu which is only a little different from the main menu. Pretty good if you’re also avoiding dairy. I can’t comment on safety for coeliacs as I’m only intolerant so I don’t ask about separate fryers for example
We have been eating here for years, even before my wife was diagnosed with coeliac disease, but even more so since as it is meant to be coeliac accredited.
For a few years it has always been safe. There is a gluten free menu and the people serving you are very good when it comes to going through the options.
On our last visit it took quite a while for us to get our food and when we came home my wife had a head ache, upset stomach and vomited. We have visited again tonight for my birthday and my mother in laws. Have got home and my wife’s stomach is swollen and she almost looks pregnant, doesn’t feel well and feels very tired. Am just praying it doesn’t turn into a migraine with vomiting and other symptoms she suffers from when glutened. The service again was very slow, kids got their starter after about an hour and we got our lettuce, then mains were about 20 minutes after that. It just feels like it’s gone down hill recently and if anything the staff are over stretched. That might explain the wait but doesn’t excuse my wife being glutened. My mother in laws onion loaf was cold as well.
We have always sung this place praises but I don’t think we will be going back. After spending upwards of £200 you don’t expect your wife to be glutened, especially when it’s a coeliac accredited restaurant.
If you or your family have coeliac I would think twice about going here.
