The server was great - walked me through the menu as there are many options that they can modify to be GF. I had the edamae lunch option, and some salmon oshi. They brought me my own GF soy sauces (yes plural).
Great food, great tea. I have been here before I found out I had celiac and my GF experience was just as good.

Incredible food and service! They asked right away if we had any allergies at the table and took my allergy seriously. Everything was unreal!

Amazing sushi, especially the aburi. Real nice location and great staff. You certainly pay for it though. Good spot for rarer slurge occasions.

They are great with allergies and really take care and pride with their food. The environment is great too. Always a good staple for girls night or birthday celebrations.

Food was excellent. We ordered a few specials and some rolls- all gf. The server was even able to make some adjustments here and there to make things gf. They brought me my own tamari though they did bring plastic chopsticks for the table. But I asked for some takeout chopsticks instead to ensure no cross contamination. I did not get sick afterwards and will definitely be returning if I have the chance!

Menu is marked with GF items. Oshi salmon is really good.

I had the kale goma-ae and the salmon oshi. Both were absolutely delicious, and the friendly staff understood about cross-contamination and made an extra effort to make me feel safe.
I just returned to Vancouver a year after my initial review. Happy to report the staff are still lovely and the salmon oshi sushi and kale coma-ae delicious. The salmon sashimi was a life-changing experience. Absolutely worth every penny!!!

A really delicious meal. When I called to make the reservation, I let them know that I have celiac and confirmed that they would be able to accomodate that. As soon as we were seated at the restaurant, I made sure the server was aware that I have celiac, and she explained that the sushi chefs take great steps to ensure that there's no cross-contamination. Helpfully, the menu is clearly marked to identify which items are GF. I also can't have seasame seeds/oil, and they were able to accomodate that even though a few of the items that we ordered usually include seasame oil. Whenever they brought an item to the table, the server clearly identified the item as GF, which I appreciated because it helped assure me that that the kitchen was aware of my needs. The sushi, itself, was wonderful - very fresh, and nicely prepared. The one issue I had was that when the server brought out the sauce for the sushi in a little dish, she actually gave me regular soy sauce. If I hadn't taken the step of confirming with her that the sauce was, in fact, GF (thankfully before having any) then the meal likely would have had a very different outcome. To be fair, the server was clearly embarrassed when she realized her mistake, and I think something like that could easily happen since I'm sure that they bring the sauce out without referring back to the order slip where the dietary issue would have been noted. Regardless though, I think it illustrates how important it is to always confirm things, even if you feel like you sound like a broken record. In spite of the one glitch, I would definitely go back to Minami the next time I'm in Vancouver - I'd just double-check with the server on the GF status of the sauce.

Probably the best sushi in town. Very safe for Celiacs, have GF soy and sauces. Lots of options, although pricy.

Great sushi with special house made GF sauces. Staff were GF knowledgeable and GF items were identified on the menu. The salmon oshi sushi was extremely addictive.
