Not a good choice for a celiac. This restaurant was extremely unknowledgeable but masked that with an attempt to accommodate me. They claimed with confidence that the arepa was gluten free but were uncertain about the pico on the side so instead substituted blue cheese dressing - they also omitted other ingredients on the dish without warning. When I asked if I could have a GF salad or protein instead, they didn’t know. They said the chef was not there and no one in the kitchen knew what had gluten and what didn’t. The server was super nice, but I sent the dish back and did not eat. I see several items on the menu that *should* be GF, but their clear lack of understanding about it made me uncomfortable.
We are staying at the EB Miami and Miranda is the hotel restaurant. Nothing on the menu is marked GF but I called ahead to make sure my daughter with celiac could eat here. There were only two options for appetizers so we got both; GRIDDLED CORN CACHAPA-Venezuelan corn cakes, grilled queso fresco, mozzarella cheese, butter and the Salmon Ceviche. Both were delicious. The rest of the menu was also very limited but she got the arepas with fries that they cooked separately and she liked both a lot. Even though there are not a ton of options that are safe for celiacs, the things that are available are delicious and my daughter feels great after eating there (she knows right away when she has even the tiniest bit).
