Delicious, gluten free menu, lots of options!
Food is great. On our 2nd visit, after she got sick, we noticed cornbread crumbs next to fries on my wife's plate. Accidental probably, just be vigilant. She still wants to go back.
So good! Lots of options.
Great place to eat and has several option. I've been multiple times now. Staff even offered to change gloves and equipment as they prepared my food. Also, the French fries have a designated fryer! It's a bit pricey but worth every penny.
Great BBQ food, gluten free menu. Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing! I have Celiac Disease, so preparation of food to avoid cross contamination is serious to me. The manager Steve was excellent about the accommodations. He prepared our food himself and advised us about the safe sauces. I would recommend asking for the manager to make sure the prep is done correctly, because they are fairly new to the process. They have an allergy menu online and a gluten free menu in the restaurant. I loved the pulled pork and the jalapèno sausage. I will return, and you should all try it. :)
Delicious BBQ There is a handout menu that includes which sauces are gf.
Safe eating environment. Company policy in place for allergies - food staff changed gloves and foam measuring cup for my meal. Expediter also changed gloves before touching my tray and handing it to me. Food is super delicious and staff is friendly and allergy knowledgeable. Ate there several times during our two week vacation and didn't mind the 45 minute commute. Don't hesitate celiacs and sensitive celiacs.
Great Gluten Free menu and the staff was well trained to handle my celiac son. Person at the register yelled out that a GF order was coming and the cook in back immediately changed gloves. Fries are the only thing put in deep fryer so those are good. There were 6 different bbq sauces when we went - five of them gluten free. Great option.
got the pulled pork and french fries. only got the fries because reviews on here recommended. I asked the lady at the counter if they were made in a dedicated fryer and she looked at me like I had 6 heads so I have to literally say "do you fry anything else in the same fryer with the fries" to get an answer, I then overheard her making fun of me for ordering gluten free. the pulled pork was dry and I wasn't a fan of either of the sauces I tried. the fries were greasy but the best park of the meal. probably won't return. on a side note they also tried to put a non gluten free side in the same box as my food (that someone I was with ordered) honestly suprised I didn't get sick
I had the most wonderful experience here last evening. This was my second time eating here, and they are very careful with your gf order, making sure to change gloves, etc. On my first visit, I ordered ribs, which were delicious, but I was afraid to try the sauces that are kept at each table, which are almost all gf, because of the cross contamination risk. Last night I ordered chicken, and the manager told me that I could have any of the sauces except the Texas twang, and I explained that no, none of the sauces are safe for me because of the cc that occurs when people might touch the sauce bottle to the buns of their sandwiches. He said that he had never thought about that before, but yes I was right this was not safe for celiacs. He said that he would bring this problem up to his general manager. He then had new clean bottles filled with the sauces that are gf brought out to our table! I was so happy and tried all of them! This made my dining experience so much better, because they were delicious and I felt safe eating them. Best of all, I did not get sick either time I have eaten here, not even a little tummy ache 😁.
Plenty of Meat Market platters, Signature meats (1/2 chicken, ribs), salads and sides to choose from. Most sauces are GF.Advise the order taker that you require GF, they will note it in the order and call back to the kitchen staff to clean surfaces and change gloves.Mission BBQ is one of my go-to for a safe option to eat. Been eating there a few times a month for many years and never have gotten sick.
We checked this place out for the first time on 11/11/17. My husband explained the celiac thing when placing the takeout order and they understood. He only ordered items he was assure would be safe. When he got home he had two market platters of meat, various sauces, an order of fries (dedicated fryer), baked beans and a green beans. As I began to dish the green beans on my plate I saw something white and looked closer and it was a piece of macaroni. I freaked out because I happened to pop two green beans in my mouth as I dished. I immediately switched plates with my husband the green beans had a lot of liquid in them that got on my nearby food and of course I thought it could be contaminated. I debated on whether to eat the meal or not and in the end did and did not get sick. I was very, very lucky. I am sure it was an innocent mistake but one that could have gotten me extremely ill. Despite the anxiety it was an amazing meal.
Food was very good, but the only side options were French fries; i guess i was expecting more from the great reviews
This is my favorite place in Fort Myers!! My husband and I love this place and eat here all the time! One thing I really missed after my Celiac diagnosis was BBQ. I could never trust anyone with cross contamination anywhere else. When you tell them that you are GF, they know exactly what to do and how to do it right and they don't treat you like it is a huge inconvenience. I am a super sensitive Celiac and I have never gotten sick here. It's so nice to go somewhere to eat and feel like a normal person!
This place is great!!! Most of the meats are GF and they even have GF fries!!! I have visited Mission BBQ many times and never had reactions!!! they also are great about changing gloves and you don't even have to ask, but let's be real we all ask anyways! ;) I also live their business model with supporting our military and first responders!!!
I would give TEN stars if I could! Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! Been at least 4 times in the last 45 days. Lovely lady named Jennifer is very knowledgable about cross contamination and goes to great lengths to keep our gf food away from other food with gluten. On top of that, the food in delicious and the they have GF fries! There hasn't been a time where we haven't loved our food here! Haven't been to another BBQ place since we've been here. Thank you Mission BBQ!!
Absolutely wonderful experience here! I have a family member that works here and gave me a little bit of a heads up on what was good. At the register I told them I have Celiac and made sure to emphasize the severity. They did a full line cleaning, changed gloves, new everything and one person made the plate. Then the expo goes over sauces and explains a little more in depth. They have a menu at the register and it can also be found online. I highly recommend trying this place out, the food, the staff and the atmosphere is truly amazing!
very gf friendly. staff changes gloves to avoid cross contamination. lots of choices of food and sides.
Good was great. GF menu and announced gf order to the kitchen at order.
The have a gluten free menu but will also change their gloves. The employees were very knowledgeable about gluten and it was no hassle at all. They also only fry French fries so the fryer is completely gluten free. On top of that the food is amazing and service is great.
This place is the best! Amazing food. Almost everything is gluten free. Nice and helpful staff know what they are doing
I was so impressed by the way they handled my food after I informed them I had celiac. They changed their gloves, were very careful in putting my food together, wiped down the prep area, had a dedicated gluten free menu with many options, etc! Food was tasty! I especially enjoyed the pulled pork (all pork no fat) and the cole slaw. Great place!
Good food, GF menu including fries! Ate there twice and didn't get sick!
I'm mildly obsessed with this place. FINALLY someplace I can eat real food when we go out to a movie. The pulled pork is amazing. The fries are gluten free (Yaaaaay!) Just tell them no corn bread- ask them to make it gluten free. They will change their gloves etc. They always do a great job and make me feel like they care. I eat here all the time. Honestly the portions are so huge that my fiancé and I end up splitting a meal sometimes!
Has gf options and is delicious!
The food was great and I got to eat everything except the corn bread and one of the sauces.
We have been here several times. My son has Celiac and we test with the Nima sensor. Each time it has come back safe. They have a very good protocol to avoid cross contamination. When a GF order comes through everyone on the line changes gloves and utensils and the work surfaces are cleaned. Now, I do watch them carefully. I have seen mistakes made. However, they have fantastic customer service and will always make it right. They even come to the table to make sure everything is to your liking. For a fast casual restaurant, I have never experienced better service.
Great attention to detail. Employees wiped down work station and changed gloves. This place gets it. Along with being celiac friendly - the food is just amazing. I also am really proud of the way they acknowledge those who served/are serving. This is the way veterans should be treated everywhere. I wish I could give this place 6 stars because that's just how great my experience was here.
Can't say enough good things about this place. Fabulous food, lots of choices, clearly marked, knowledgeable staff!
