This is a hotel restaurant so the prices are a lot higher than in other restaurants. The set meals and meat dishes are very expensive by Japanese standards. We tried ordering a la carte but every dish was checked separately with the chef so we went through quite a few before finding a couple that could be made gf (grilled vegetables and rice with dried sardines that came with tea and a tofu and vegetable broth). The language barrier and the waiter’s belief that gf only means no wheat despite me having shown him a card in Japanese explaining what I should avoid, made the ordering process quite complicated and embarrassing. The food I ate was however delicious.

Wonderful. Made a special gluten free tasting menu for us. It was super delicious. The best we ate in Japan.

Restaurant inside the hotel. They offer sushi and steak meals. Gluten-free isn’t marked on menu but when ordering they ask about allergies and tailor the dishes to suit. For the steak meal, you got a salad to start then a seaweed soup then steak served with vegetables, plain rice and miso soup. They even had gluten-free soya sauce to have with your meal. The steak was so nice. Then to finish with I got a coffee and some fruit.
