Oh my GOODNESS! I wasn’t expecting to find any safe food on the island, but this place exists! We had fried chicken and donuts holes (!!!) and it was scrumptious. The food is all gluten-free and so much more delicious than the bag of popcorn in my purse which I thought I’d be eating for lunch.
YUM! I only tried the fried chicken as it was exactly what I felt like & something that’s hard to get GF in Japan - it was delicious!!! My Partner who is not GF loved it too 🙂 I really wanted to try the donuts but unfortunately they were sold out - we arrived around 12! When we left there was a queue outside so plan accordingly.
You can also eat in or Take away - gorgeous spot off the main road!
Had a lovely late lunch here! We arrived at 14:00 and by then the curry and fries had unfortunately sold out. So if you really want the curry or fries, don’t wait too long to go there.
We had the chicken, rice and donuts. Everything was delicious. The lemon soda was really refreshing.
Amazing gluten-free non-fried Miyajima chicken and fries!
We had a wonderful lunch here when we came to visit Miyajima Island. I highly recommend this restaurant the chicken bites are so crisp and flavorful. We loved the donut bites too. You won’t be disappointed.
After seeing good reviews I thought I'd come, safe to say I'm disappointed. The curry they offer is lacking flavour and very watery, the chicken is fatty and chewy, the fries lack flavour. And at 2000 yen it's not a good experience, if there were more options on this island I'd recommend trying them instead.
An incredible find on Miyajima! I went to the island loaded up with snacks in my backpack but needn’t have worried. This place is off the main road but well worth a detour.
The Miyajima chicken with homemade lemonade (1300 yen) plus donuts (500 yen) was some of the best gf food I’ve had in Japan! Totally delicious, well-priced, and a rare treat to find warm donuts.
This place was a cracking find - perfect after a long hike! - The menu is clearly marked with GF, Milk Free and Egg Free. - They basically serve one tray called the base set with two dishes; Spicy Beef Curry with rice & fried chicken with a drink of your choice - would highly recommend getting the basic set with a cold sparkling lemonade and a pot of mini donuts to finish ! I was stuffed but it was worth it! - another note, the flour used for the chicken is rice flour.
This place is fantastic. The cafe is really nice and the staff were extremely friendly, the chef went through my gluten free translation card with me and was able to confirm that yes everything on the menu is coeliac friendly! Being able to eat fried chicken and donuts is a rare treat and the beef curry was also delicious.
