They are not educated on what is gluten free and what isn’t. Mexican food is typically safe so I don’t worry too much about it. I asked if the tres mole enchiladas and the enfijolades that my husband and I shared were gluten free. They said with confidence both were gluten free but I got sick! I looked it up later and mole sauce is not traditionally gluten free. That’s not say they didn’t make it gluten free, but given I got sick the way only gluten makes me sick, I’m gonna wager that was the culprit.
Im ok with cross contamination, so there was definitely gluten in the ingredients of one or both dishes.
I will say that was some damn good Mexican food so at least i enjoyed the taste.
