I had the half salad and cup of chili. The chili was great. It reminded me of Steak n Shake chili (the chili of my childhood), but better. It was chunky, which I like, and had a perfect level of heat, spice, and seasoning. The corn topping turned out nice too. It gave a nice bit of sweetness reminiscent of cornbread, but without the flour.

The salad wasn't so good. I had the chopped which came with ham, egg, cheese, avocado, tomato, and corn. The ham was good with carved-from-bone flavor, but the other toppings were on the mild side. My egg was overcooked, and the corn wasn't fresh. The lettuce had a large hunk that was very wilted and a little mushy. I had the server check to ensure the chili was gluten free, but my plate came out with bread. Fortunately it was on a slip of paper, but I would not assume this restaurant is safe for people with celiac.

For almost $20 including tip, I would expect better quality control. Wilted lettuce, gray eggs, frozen corn, bread on a gluten free plate, I would be willing to excuse one mistake, two if they were busy, but they weren't. I would not pay that much for this meal again, but I would love to pay for a reasonably priced e-cookbook that contained that chili recipe.
