I ordered from the glten free menu and the server said she would make a note to the cook that I had celiac disease. Steak and mashed potatoes were fine, but the brussel sprouts were cooked in a deep fryer and mixed with the carrots. The waitress said she explained to the cook about my 'allergy'. Obviously, more training is needed there.
Always have a good experience here. I tend to tell people I'm celiac without them asking, so that may be the difference. They are always careful and run things by the kitchen and me if there are changes. I have never had an issue and never take my Gluten Defense before eating here.
I had the Smugglers Cove Sirloin. The scallops (very small) and shrimp were in a pretty spicy (Cajun butter) tomato based sauce. They held back the onion rings as they were the only gluten containing part of the meal, as per their Gluten friendly options menu, which doesn't promise a lack of cross contamination.
We had a great experience ordering from Mr Mikes. The server was knowledgeable and asked the chef/kitchen when he was unsure. Kitchen was knowledgeable on cross contamination - they knew to cook the chicken in the oven instead of grill top, and made substitutions where necessary.
