The staff were very eager and knowledgeable for serving someone with celiacs. I had the pulled pork sandwich on GF bread and it was good! All the sandwiches are GF and then had kettle chips or salad as a side. They made sure the kitchen knew it was for someone with celiacs so they could keep the area clean in the back.

They have gf bread available for all of their tasty sandwiches and a few gf treats like a flourless brownie and an almond raspberry bar. Very kind staff.

I went for breakfast specially because I heard they had great gf food. When I asked, the server told me that "they didn't have anything gluten free except the 'wheat free brownie' "

When I asked about ordering food from the lunch menu she said, "sorry, it's breakfast time."

I won't be going back.

Symptomatic Celiac

I was recently in Harrison Hot Springs with my family and while we enjoyed our stay, the food options for me were pretty dismal as I'm a celiac. There were a few places that offered a limited "gluten free" menu but they did not feel celiac safe to me (cooked on the same grill as gluten-containing foods, staff who were clearly not knowledgable about celiac or even gluten-free, etc.). But then I read a few reviews online about Muddy Waters and decided to give it a try. What a great place! The chef is a celiac as well and the staff are totally knowledgable and helpful. They have a variety of baked goods that are GF (the lemon bar was YUMMY!) and they can make most of their other dishes GF. This is a lighter fare restaurant so mostly sandwiches, salads, soups, etc. But they had GF bread on hand so almost any sandwich could be made GF. I initially ordered the pulled pork but the chef came out to tell me that he uses Worcestershire in the sauce for the pork so he recommended that I pick something else. He offered a few options and I was almost won over by the duck breast or the brie with pear but in the end chose the bocconcini with fresh tomatoes, basil and pesto that came with a great salad. What a relief to feel safe eating out after a weekend of sticking to GF granola bars and apples while the rest of my family ate what they wanted. If I'm ever back in Harrison Hot Springs, I'll be eating breakfast, lunch and dinner here. My only complaint? I wish they were open later!
