DO NOT DRINK THE TEA! IT’S BARLEY!! Complimentary tea when you’re seated is a nice touch, but not when it’s brought without explanation and you assume it’s green tea. It isn’t. Don’t touch it. Ask for water.
Tamari is available upon request.
The server was nice but told us to “be safe” and skip the spicy sauce instead of asking the kitchen what was in it. You should be fine if you stick to the basic rolls and nigiri. This is not like Bamboo, where you can eat pretty much anything on the menu and where they know every ingredient. However, it’s much more inexpensive.
The quality of the fish was variable, but nothing was bad. The salmon was excellent. The rice was not packed very well so eating the nigiri was an awkward experience.
