I sampled some tasty GF brews while enjoying my fair food from next door - Honey Butter Fair (GF fried chicken and GF pumpkin funnel cake). Before leaving I stocked up on cans of my favorite Mutanis gluten free lagers, IPAs and seltzers from their to-go cooler. I keep some in the fridge at home. My celiac and gluten intolerant guests appreciate the options.
Beer is great, service is terrible.
Asked to clarify that outside food was allowed in since many places in Portland don’t allow it, and the person (who was a half hour late to open) didn’t think it was important to make sure I was out of ear shot before talking smack about me asking. Also was very rude through the ordering process. I work in food service and while I don’t believe anyone is owed pleasantries, actively talking down your customers is not a good look.
Really great beer period. Not just considering it’s GF. It tastes like regular beer, but with interesting and unusual flavor profiles. I think the porters are especially excellent. The decor is wacky and fun and it’s tucked in with Tamale Boy and the Honey Butter food cart. There’s a lovely patio area that a great spot to hang out in the afternoon/evening
This place is blowing the doors off GF beer. They make all their GF beers without sorghum, which leaves us with rich, flavorful malts to which he adds a wild variety of adjuncts. The recipes are constantly changing, but there’s always a variety of styles I enjoy no matter when I stop in.
And if you’re looking for GF food to go with the great beer (and guest ciders), there’s both Tamale Boy next door and Honey Butter Country Fair (funnel cakes and corn dogs and other fun treats) in the driveway.
Excellent beers and the food truck on the premises is also dedicated gluten free. We had corn dogs and funnel cake and tried most beers.
Best GF beer in Portland hands down. They have it all from lagers and IPAs to more experimental brews that are so delicious. I always go for whatever chicha they have on tap (refreshing and sour!). And the outside seating is great in a peaceful area
Best gluten free beer in the city! Awesome rotating selection, including special small batch experimentation. Additionally, the wrapped tamales next door at Tamale Boy are prepared at a separate facility and, from what I’ve been told, safe from cross contamination (I’ve never had issues). A perfect destination and a great team. Be sure to visit!
Great GF beer-Tamale Boy is next door with yummy GF food-great combo!!!
I love this place. So many beer options!!! And a few ciders and a kombucha if that’s what you are into. Atmosphere is super relaxed and fun. The staff couldn’t be better; Chris has been working weekends and will make you feel so welcome! Fun food options next door (tamales and tacos) so you can have beer and dinner together. Truly a gem of a place.
Great beer brewed with no gluten at all! Delicious beer choices that taste amazing. So lucky to have this place right here in PDX!
100% Dedicated Gluten Free Facility with many GF beers on tap, including guest beers—only from other dedicated gluten free facilities (Groundbreaker, Evasion, Bierly, Moonshrimp, and Bauman’s Cider). Had over a dozen GF beers on tap and cans to-go. Excellent range. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating available, with some games on hand as well. (Tamale Boy is next door with GF food options too!)
