Ranks as one of the worst dining experiences we've had. Almost everything contains gluten, mostly in the form of some type of vinegar that is made from "lots of grains": sushi rice, hot rice, wasabi, miso soup, and salad dressing. Had we not been with a group of non-celiac friends, we would have walked out as soon as we discovered this.

Our dinner consisted of tea, salad with no dressing, edamame, and a few pieces of raw fish dipped in tamari sauce. For dinner for the two of us we paid $120. No rice. No rolls. No soup. No wasabi. I asked twice for extra lemon to put on the salad, but non ever came, so I had to scrounge the lemon slices from the edamame (with the tamari, this actually made a decent salad dressing).

While the servers were nice, we had a very long (hour+) wait for our food (granted that it is a small place and they were busy). One tray of food (not the gluten-free food) finally came and it was another half an hour until the second tray arrived. The tobiko we ordered came at an additional delay, as they had forgotten it. For this service, our party of six was charged a 20% gratuity.

Surprisingly, they had gluten-free tamari, although that by no means made up for the lack of anything interesting to eat. In terms of "safety", we didn't get sick, and at least they knew that their food contains gluten, thus the two-heart rating. Learned our lesson not to assume that we'd do OK with any sushi restaurant.
