Unfortunately, whilst the restaurant do say to have gluten-free pasta (which is why we came here), there was much confusion around offering me (coeliac) a normal ‘Alhambra’ beer bottle. The manager(?) was very unwilling to hear that the beer was not gluten-free because she was convinced that her boyfriend drinks it as it doesn’t contain wheat. There was unwillingness to hear that gluten is also present in barley and that without a ‘sin gluten’ stamp, that a beer containing barley was very likely to contain gluten. It became that it was ‘my issue’ if I couldn’t have barley, but that the beer was definitely suitable for coeliac as it didn’t have wheat in it. Due to this incident I lost faith in the knowledge of gluten and didn’t want to eat a meal here so we went elsewhere.
