I have never had gluten issues at Nicholas. I order chicken skewers, hummus, falafel, shawarma. Avoid the GF pita since it's heated in the same oven with gluten items.

Excellent, delicious food! They even have gluten free pita and can make wraps.

They do make regular gluten pita too & they give one to every table so know there’s probably a lot of gluten flying around. May not be the best choice if you are sensitive.

This was the best Mediterranean food I've had! We ordered Arabian breeze messa and lamb schwarma. Servings were large, each meal could have been shared with another 1-2 people. Service was excellent, and food was served quickly. I'm pretty sensitive to any CC and didn't get sick after.

Excellent food, GF lamb kebab pizza was incredible. They automatically bring regular pita bread to the table, so ask for GF right off the bat. Well labeled menu, lots of options.

I was totally blown away by the food! GF pita bread & pizza crust were amazing. Our waiter was knowledgeable about GF and made it easy. Highly recommend!

Very sloppy in the way they deal with food; e.g., bread carelessly placed in front of the person with celiac; greasy, nasty, messy floors, etc. I’ll not go there again. I can just imagine the flour flying through the air back in the kitchen. Not for me!

Amazing restaurant with friendly, helpful staff, small restaurant, warm atmosphere and the food is heaven. For a small charge get the gluten free bread, great for dipping. The olive oil spice mixture brought for dippng bread into is delicious. The stuffed grape leaves tasted fresh & were delicate but I used a fork when needed. The mango lasse was delightful w/little pieces of mango in it. **another reviewer suggested a dish that is not currently gluten free** All gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu. The also have gluten free pizza and I was told they use separate baking pans, utensils, etc. I will try the pizza next time. I have Celiac and didn't have a reaction.

By far the BEST Middle Eastern cuisine in Portland!! Get the Mezza plate and try a little of (almost) everything. The baba ghannouj is deliciously smoky and totally to die for, and everything is made from scratch. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant!

Ordered a very tasty chicken kebab here and had no reaction. They have GF pita bread that can be brought out instead of the usual pre-meal pita, but you have to ask for it. Plenty of GF options available and marked on the menu.

Love their chicken kabobs with saffron jasmine rice! Their gluten-free pita bread is amazing, too (fyi, does contain dairy). GF and vegan menu items are clearly marked. We've eaten here several times and always explain that my daughter is Celiac and extremely sensitive to cross contamination. They take extra precautions and make a point to clearly mark the food as GF. She has never gotten glutened here.

This place is delicious! Each menu item is marked either GF, VGN, for vegan, or no mark means, nothing special. Most items on the menu are marked GF. I have never had problems after eating here. Also, if you tell them you're celiac, they will take extra care in the kitchen to keep your food clean.
