Great experience. Server was very well trained about cross contamination, and every time any food came out they confirmed it was gluten free. My favorite was the scallop tiradito, but everything was amazing. Wonderful cocktails, too. Should really be listed here as 4 dollar signs, not 3 as it is quite expensive.
The food here was incredible as you would expect. The server was very knowledgeable about coeliac disease and when I asked about gluten free she asked me whether it was an intolerance or Coeliac. When the server brings over your plate they announced the gluten free status pretty much every time. Gluten free soy sauce and gluten free teriyaki all available. Loved every bite of the food and even had a flourless chocolate cake desert. Would definitely recommend this place try the black miso cod and yellowtail sashimi.
This was a last minute meal for us. Scary since I didn't have time to scour the internet. I asked the hostess to get a feel for her answer and she said absolutely. The tone in her voice told me all I needed to know.
Our server was so knowledgable and helpful. The food is "family style" so everyone at GF that night. Our friends said they loved everything and would've had no idea it was GF. We ended up telling our server what we liked and what we didn't care for (also have shellfish allergy) and let her choose every single thing. She even pointed me to GF cocktails. Yes!!
They prepared everything with GF soy sauce and who knows what else. I'm already dreaming of going back!!!
When the food came out, the staff was careful to say gluten free this and that before each plate was put down.
while they do have gluten free options if you have a soy allergy you will be treated like a joke. You'd think it would be easy enough to let the fresh sushi/sashimi shine thru without added sauces that have soy in them but apparently asking to do so is treated with very little respect and consideration. if you are simply looking for gluten free you will find great options but if you are dealing with any other allergies I'd spend your money somewhere that will happily accommodate you.
I have Celiac and my boyfriend is shellfish free. Our server didn't bat an eyelash. He was extremely well versed in the menu and how it could be modified to meet our needs. As Japanese cuisine novices, we were delighted to be able to do the chef's special tasting menu. It was such a treat to be able to sit back and let Nobu do the work. Everything was delicious and we both left the meal healthy. The portions were perfect and well spaced. A magical experience. Highly recommended for novice and expert tasters alike.
