If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and I stopped here on a trip to Grand Rapids from Kalamazoo to go see the butterfly exhibit at Frederick Meijer Gardens. When we ordered the employee asked if there were allergies they should know about. I told them that I had celiac disease and they went through the menu in detail of what I could and could not eat. I felt very comfortable eating here. As I started eating I noticed that my non-GF husband’s dish had the same noodles in it. I thought maybe they were all GF since we throughly discussed my dietary needs. The same employee who took our order came over to see how we liked our food and started telling us about the dish. At this point she clearly noticed the error but continued to talk through the ingredients until I specifically asked if my noodles were gluten free. At this point she told me that weren’t and asked if I wanted then to remake it. I had already rated about 1/3 of my dish so there is not point, I’ll already be sick. I said no I will already be sick. She continued to try and have me just let them remake it and then offered me a refund on my dish. She clearly did not understand the gravity of the situations just said oh it was a surprise to me too when I asked why my dish was not made with gluten free noodles as requested. I ended up having to immediately leave and drive home to Kalamazoo 20 minutes after arriving in Grand Rapids and did not get to do any of the things I had planned for my birthday as a result of this experience.

I feel extremely safe eating here. The workers are very knowledgeable about what is and is not gluten-free and take extra time to confirm if they are unsure. They have amazing gluten-free noodles for their ramen bowls and they have GF/DF options for Boba as well. If you are looking to eat a delicious bowl of ramen and to not feel sick afterwards, this is your place!

SO GOOD! Very knowledgeable about what is gf and can be made safe for celiacs. First time ever eaten authentic ramen and it had so much flavor! Would go back in a heartbeat. Didn’t feel sick at all afterwards

These reviews did not lie, amazing experience! The ramen was delicious! I got the zessean bowl with pork shoulder. They are very good about asking about allergies and taking precautions. They were able to tell me what ramens were gluten free, there were two others than what I got and what proteins were as well. The service was excellent, the lady who took our order was so friendly. And the ramen was so flavorful and delicious! I couldn’t believe it was gluten free noodles. Did not get sick afterwards

Came here based on reviews here. It was so good! You walk up to counter to order (wait for bowl before seated) I got the Zessan signature ramen bowl with braised pork shoulder protein. I specified gluten allergy and person taking my order noted that and gave me the GF ramen. Not all of the suggested proteins are GF so ask. The GF ramen noodles are so good and do not look or taste like other GF ramen I have had. I even went back to make sure they were the GF ones. The serving size is large. Great taste. Will definitely return

Very good ramen, as well as boba! Was a bit pricey for two people, but we did two build your own ramen bowls, and also 2 drinks. Gluten free noodles available and menu items marked gf. They also mark which bowl has food allergy!

Gluten free noodles are made in a separate dedicated facility. When ordering we were asked right away if there were any allergies. Staff changes gloves and makes the gluten free orders in a separate area. Love being able to have gluten free ramen! Great flavors.
