I ordered the pasta rosa with supposedly gluten free noodles and got sick within a few minutes. They can't guarantee no cross contamination.
There are only a couple of gluten-free options, but they're good. The pad thai is great!
if you have celiac disease, you cannot eat their "gluten free" pastas. they are cooked in the same pans as normal pasta.
We ate at the one at Mall of America. My granddaughter was recently diagnosed with Celiac and we asked about their gluten free options. They were very knowledgeable and the pasta with spaghetti (or marinara) sauce was really good. We had ordered it with meatballs and they cam to the table and told us these weren't gf ones so that was a nice touch. Good that the people cooking are knowledgeable. The mac and cheese option wasn't as great but it was still good enough that she finished it. They gave her a rice krispie bar as a side and we couldn't confirm this was gf so she ended up giving this away. They also don't have a gf salad dressing which would have been nice. Had they had more than the pasta option, would definitely have given them a 5.
The guy working the register was incredibly friendly. He was being so cautious that he rang up the gluten free order completely separately to make sure there was no confusion. The food was good and our child with Celiac disease was thrilled to have a new place to eat and enjoyed the meal. Based on our experience I would have given it four stars (knocking off a star for cleanliness for poop smeared on the toilet and the wall in the bathroom stall and that the restaurant wasn't busy and yet there were several dirty tables with dishes on them that were never cleared while we were there), however after we got home our Celiac got very sick and we suspect it was gluten contamination. For that reason I cannot recommend this restaurant for anyone with Celiac disease and we won't be returning, at least to this location. It's a shame.
I had the Penne Rosa with gluten free fussili pasta and grilled chicken. Didn't make me sick! The pasta and sauce were just as good as the regular, but I was disappointed with the grilled chicken. Tasted bland and rubbery. Prior to this I always got the Parmesan Crusted chicken and it is much better. Alas it is not GF and the substitute of grilled chicken wasn't great.
Definitely not safe for celiacs. I found a macaroni noodle in my gluten-free fusilli noodles. Their only response: "we can't guarantee anything." They had asked when ordering if it was for an allergy, to which I responded that it was. That apparently does not warrant any extra care.
I have been to several Noodles and Company locations with my family. Two of my children and myself are gluten intolerant. Three visits ago I ordered my daughter Gluten Free spaghetti. When we got it home she complained that it contained meatballs and wouldn't eat them. I didn't remember the spaghetti having meatballs in the past, but didn't think much of it. My husband placed a takeout order a few weeks later and I really didn't think much of it when the spaghetti did not contain meatballs. The third time we ordered, the spaghetti again had meatballs when we got it home. My husband said to me, "They told me last time the meatballs have gluten in them." So, I called and asked and sure enough I was told the meatballs have gluten in them. My husband had to go back to the store to get two new spaghettis as these were now cross contaminated. When he arrived the manager told my husband that he "should have specified when ordering." Since when do you have to specify not to put meatballs (that I didn't know contained gluten) on a GLUTEN FREE spaghetti?! I didn't say, I would like spaghetti with gluten free noodles. I said, "I would like a GLUTEN FREE spaghetti." So angry that I almost fed it to my son and glad my daughter wouldn't eat the one a few weeks prior. And to blame their mistake on us? Ridiculous! Also, when my husband got back home with the replacements, they had only given us one instead of two. We will not be back. Big time fail.
We've had good luck with this chain, and have eaten at this location before. But tonight we informed the staff that our 5-year old had celiac, and we'd like all of our food made with the GF fusilli, new water, the works. They said that wouldn't be a problem. When they handed us our food we asked again, and they assured us that everything was GF. Two bites in to her mac (fusilli) & cheese, we spotted regular (gluten) macaroni mixed in. We called the restaurant to complain, and were told that our order was marked in their system as a gluten-free "preference," not an "allergy." Beware- Not sure we'll go back.
Yummy gf pasta. But I feel bad after I eat here maybe 50% of the time. A no for me, if very sensitive.
My pasta was good, but I was definitely afraid of cross-contamination
Started asking questions about their use of gluten free pasta. Was told rice noodles are cooked in separate water. Then they pulled their allergy sheet to tell me what meals have gluten free sauce. Then discovered they have an allergy button attached to my order to take precautions. Was so excited to try, but my Nima test showed too much gluten for me to eat.
I ordered the Mac and cheese with gluten free noodles, and informed them I had celiac. The manager came over and approved the order and told the kitchen in front of me. We received our food quickly and I was enjoying it very much before my server came over and told us we had been given the wrong order and I was in fact eat the regular Mac and cheese. She asked if I still wanted MY order and I told her to just box it up knowing I would have my head in the toilet soon. She refunded my $5 meal, but left the other $10 meal on the bill, and the manager was too busy to talk apparently so I just hurried out.
I've posted on here before but I was recently diagnosed. Since then I have gotten sick every time I've eaten here. There is just no way they can avoid cross contamination. That being said, the food is great and it would be an awesome place for NON-CELIAC gluten intolerant people. NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY!
Excellent place for gluten-free noodle dishes!
Chicken pad Thai is awesome! The kitchen isn't careful of cross contamination. I've found bits of other noodles in my food. Thankfully my sensitivity isn't as serious as others who are diet restricted. I wouldn't be able to have lunch with my sister here who has lupus and can't risk the cross contamination, so for that reason they get four stars otherwise it would have been five.
Don't go here if you are very gluten sensitive. I have celiac and the past two times I went here, I got sick 30 minutes later. Not to mention, I found regular, gluten pasta in the bottom of my bowl after I had finished my meal, which means they definitely cross contaminate.
I'll admit that I've eaten here before without many issues (a company like Noodles can't guarantee that their food is completely safe but I'd never had issues prior to my most recent visit, although it had been a few years since I last went here). However, a few days ago I went there for lunch and got violently ill (complete with DH) afterwards. After looking at our receipt, it turns out the waitress had completely ignored our request to make it gluten free. We told her two different times and asked her if she was sure that the chef could make it GF. I've had problems with cross contamination before but I've never been blatantly ignored like that. I guess my advice is that if you have celiac's, stay away from here, because the staff don't seem to believe you when you tell them it's important that your dish is GF. I will never be going back.
Noodle's & Co. has a lot of gluten-free options. Every menu option can be switched to one of the two gluten-free noodle options (rice pasta and Fazoli). Noodles & Co. has a gluten-free guide that is very helpful. I usually order spaghetti. Instead of meatballs, I ask for steak. The Tomato Basil soup is also gluten-free. The manager explains my options and then swipes his card on the register to put an allergy alert on my order. I have dined at Noodle's & Co. numerous times and absolutely love their food!! I have Celiac Disease and never have been sick afterwards. Highly recommend!!!

Pad Thai, Napa Market Salad, Tomato Basil Bisque, Thai Green Curry with shrimp are always gluten-friendly, many other dishes gluten-friendly with slight modifications!
