Here is my experience. Excellent, knowledgeable, service. Met with the general manager, who assured me of their dedication to providing a safe GF meal. I had a marinated salmon appetizer and a multiple fish sushi roll that was customized. The quality was excellent. I did not have any reaction afterwards.

Limited options for someone with celiac, the waiter seemed very knowledgeable but within 20 minutes of our dinner ending I started feeling very sick. They must be missing something for people who have celiac and not just gluten intolerance.

They do not have a dedicated GF menu but the waitress was knowledgeable and very accommodating. I had the salmon miso yaki, the vegetable sushi roll, and the fried rice. I didn’t have any problems at all. It was delicious! And they brought out my GF soy sauce separately so I knew it was safe.

I heard O-ku was great with gluten free so I was excited to try. I still called before hand and spoke to the manager about being celiac and confirmed that they could accommodate gluten free safety. I made a note on the reservation, and spoke to my waitress as well who went over all the safe option with me. I got SO sick!!!! Very disappointed. I even called afterwards and sent an email to see if we could find out what happened and maybe be able to keep it from happening to someone else since they are known for having GF options and they never got back to me. I met another girl a week or so later who also had celiacs and she told me she also got sick after eating there. Bummer.

I’ve been to o-ku a few times since being gluten free. This time was awesome though! Our waitress was knowledgeable about allergies and ensured me the chefs have a designated way to make all the rolls gf. They sub shrimp for the crab since it had gluten (fyi it’s 2 dollar up charge) - but I was so excited to have the potato roll which was absolute favorite growing up!!! I will be back for sure!

The atmosphere here was fantastic. The staff was so friendly and knew exactly what was celiac safe / gluten free. We had the spring rolls with a gf tamari based sauce. Tuna Tartar, and for dinner we had a Maki roll , a tuna roll and a tuna maki roll. The quality of the fish was amazing. Soft, fresh and melt in your mouth. 10/10 would recommend for a nice sushi dinner.

Though GF not mentioned on the menu, staff was very knowledgeable about GF. They offered to change the recipe to exclude Gluten from the dish. Great place.
