Visited the Oak Tree Inn several times over the years. It only gets busier and busier with each visit. Nestled between Rowerdennan & Drymen, it was voted 'Gastropub of The Year - 2022'.
We visited on Saturday 4th of February, in the afternoon and it was very busy. There's a brilliant "village pub" feel to the bar area, with a roaring wood fire and brilliant decorations on the walls. There's also a restaurant type area, and accomodation available.
We booked in advance due to popularity. We were seated quickly and despite how busy it was, our food arrived within 15 minutes of ordering.
It was presented very well, chips were lovely and the fish was nice - if not a little on the tasteless side. No complaints with regards to batter. The only other decent fish & chips I've tried is from McMonagles chip shop in Clydebank.
The Oak Tree also offers a gluten free beer in bottle form and I'd definitely eat there again!
