I have celiac - ordered something naturally gluten free, but asked for the chef to take precautions for cross contact. Not willing to clean off griddle to make my order- “that’s not something we do.”
Went somewhere else.

This was such a nightmare. I want to start by saying that part of the reason I trusted them is because I have eaten there in years past with success. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and the items were marked clearly on the menu. That is no longer the case.
I found myself very hungry and in a vulnerable emotional state because of how hard it can be to find food. Because of my prior good luck with OBR, I decided to try them again.
The girl at the front was rude and clearly annoyed by my polite questions. She was aggravated and kept going into the back to check with the kitchen staff to answer my questions. Her responses were all pretty similar, that they use shared surfaces. Shared surfaces don’t bother me so I repeated that for emphasis.
We finally landed on tofu tacos, which come with salsa, peppers, onions and mushrooms on corn tortillas. Sounds innocent enough, right? The kitchen staff said they’d do their best to clean surfaces, which combined with my positive previous experience gave me faith.
When I started to eat the tacos, I realized they’re marinated in or seasoned with something that tasted like soy sauce, which is pretty confusing for a Mexican-flare type of dish. Lo and behold, I started to have a reaction to them.
Would not go back. I wish I wouldn’t have trusted my prior experience. Don’t be fooled by the Yelp reviews with old menu that designate GF items. Get a banana from the IGA.
