Great casual spot! I got the plate and they were flexible on swapping out bread and knowledgeable about how to handle Celiac. Sweet potato fries were especially good :)

Great classic barbecue! Staff understand celiac and used new cutting boards, gloves etc to prepare our food.

I have eaten here 3 days in a row because it’s that good. Staff seems super knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. The chicken tenders were BOMB and I did not feel sick after eating. We have tried the tritip, chicken tenders, beans and corn pie and everything has been delicious!

Fantastic chicken tenders and fries. Not joking, I’ve ordered from them 25 times and counting, everytime has been great and never gotten sick. pretty cheap too, considering.

Not safe from cross contamination. Talked to the chef and they make the barbeque in the same area as the bread apparently? No mention of gloves or any kind of knowledge about cross contamination.

I was told at the window that although they don't have a gluten free menu, everything there is gluten free with the exception of the sandwich bread and dessert. Fingers crossed 🤞 😊

Fries are safe and will change gloves if you ask! Most everything is gluten free and they now have gluten free chicken fingers! Great place for barbecue.

Good place. Everything is GF except the bread. I got a BBQ chicken salad, it was good though not among the best I’ve ever had. Perhaps salads aren’t their specialty.

Really good smoked meat. Most of their sides are GF. Their corn pie is to die for.

Plates without the bread are gluten free! No labeling and not totally sure of procedures but I felt fine after. Unclear on whether all the sides were gluten free or not.
Not really visible on the menu marquee but everything is gf except the bread as others have reviewed, and they asked me if it was a presence or allergy. Great tri tip, crunchy fries, and nice slaw with cucumbers and a little spice.

It's such a relief to have so many choices at a restaurant! When I told the cashier I had celiac, they were knowledgable about the menu and options. The cook even came over and made sure there was an allergy note on my order. Everything on the menu was GF (except the garlic bread). I got the GF chicken tenders and fries-- the breading was crunchy and flavorful, and the fries were so good! I had a few bites of my friend's tri-tip, and the seasoning, smoke, and tenderness were amazing. I didn't try any of the beer/cider, but they had a few GF options there too. Outdoor space is also clean, plenty of tables. Really great!

Amazing experience!! Got the GF chicken strips and fries, a plate with pulled pork, coleslaw and garlic bread. Didn’t love the garlic bread as we think it was a hot dog bun. Went back for a side of the Corn Pie which is way more worth it!!!
Overall, totally suggest the pulled pork plate with coleslaw and corn pie. The chicken tenders were great but there’s obviously better meat out there.
Note: menu is not marked GF. We got there trusting this website and everything we read on here was correct and the staff was very knowledgeable. It was an order at the counter type place!

Everything is GF but the bread! They were very knowledgeable about celiac and told me my meal would be prepared on a separate plate without me asking. It was so good that I ate there two days in a row!

Had a fabulous meal here! People working were super friendly and knowledgeable about GF and Celiacs (one workers mom has Celiacs as well). Our kids could pick anything on the menu.. even the garlic bread can be made GF (and it is completely different looking than the regular garlic bread). We tried all 3 meat plates- tri tip, chicken, and pulled pork- all with fries, beans and garlic bread! Great meal, super nice people! Glad we went here!

This place was amazing! They knew about celiacs disease and asked if I had it. They use separate boards and areas to make your food. First time in ages I had GF garlic bread! Food is delicious!

Really excellent tri-tip and I’ve eaten my share over the years. Had the corn pie (GF) and beans as my sides and I was a bit disappointed in those, but I was here for the meat so it was not an issue. Would definitely come back when in the area again

California bbq style, really good sauce, excellent corn pie. The coleslaw lacked flavor I would try another side or salad next time. No gf bread but all the other sides are gf - corn pie, fries, beans, coleslaw. Walk up order window with seating outside and now that the pandemic restrictions are lifted, inside as well.

Most of menu is gluten free. They have a separate area to prep food if you tell them. They will put on fresh gloves as well. The fries are gluten free with a dedicated fryer. Sweet potato fries were delicious. The rest of the food was good.

All GF just not the bread. This is an order at the window restaurant. Very good food!
When I asked about gluten free, they asked if I had an allergy or was celiac? When I told them I was celiac, they told me that I could have everything but the bread. They changed out their gloves and used a special cutting board. Absolutely awesome experience!

The tri tip is super money, don’t know why my friends always take me to firestone, I’m deF changing to this spot. Gluten free fries and the corn pie is gluten free as is the bbq sauce. Bbq sauce is perfect and staff is very friendly!
Love this place..... everything is GF except the buns.... they will change gloves too . All sides are GF including the fries. Delicious food and I will be back here again!

Awesome!!’ Very quick service and knowledgeable staff. I am celiac and felt very safe eating here. Food was super delish as well.

Great food! EVERYTHING is GF except for the bread. Keep in mind, GF takes longer as they have to stop and use different utensils and handling. Apparently the owners mom is celiac. Very good find.

I’m Celiac. Everything is pretty much gf except for bread/buns. One of staff is Celiac and walked me through menu. Not a huge menu but a nice little find in downtown SLO. Food is great and reasonably priced. Dedicated fryer & kitchen space.

Owner’s mother is celiac. Great tri-tip, fries, sauce, and beans.
