Went here in a recent trip to the area, staff was very knowledgeable about celiac. They make their own gf bread and you can purchase it as well! Had a club sandwich and fries and it was all awesome. My Son also celiac had a chicken salad and loved it also. Bought a chocolate chip cookie to go and wished after tasting it I had bought more! So good. I will say the bread has a slightly sweet taste that I didn’t expect but was still good (my niece said the sweet burger bun make her burger even better!) Honestly to be able to go out to eat and have gf option’s while on the road-it’s priceless! It’s been days and zero reaction!
I went during an extremely busy time (tourist season) & ordered the yummiest burger on a gluten free bun. I stressed that I was a celiac and was reassured with great care... The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the gf chocolate torte had a cutting utensil in that has been used in other gluten containing desserts in the case.. it alarmed me so I spoke to the waiter/person who rang my order...
All in all, good experience...get the game burger .. delicious and ooey gooey
I had a cheeseburger on gluten free toasted bread with cole slaw, and a London fog to drink. Everything was excellent. They have GF bread and desserts. The server was very knowledgeable about GF :) Returned a couple years later and had the Italian grilled cheese and fries (dedicated fryer). They have GF bread and pastries you can purchase on site as well. I’m beyond impressed.
Very knowledgeable about gluten free and celiac needs. They make their own gluten free bread daily and use it for sandwiches, have a separate gluten free prep space, separate frier for their French fries and house made chips. And, they have multiple gluten free desserts every day. Amazing! Such a great, friendly place!
Loved it here! Fresh made gluten free bread. They even have a separate fryer for those who request gluten free
Note: This place is also known as Schrock's Amish Farm and Village in other reviews. It's confusing but this is the ONLY restaurant in the Schrock's Amish Farm complex that includes the Streb's General store. This isn't the best place if you need gluten free AND dairy-free and want something healthy (vegetarian). There is standard fare here with sandwiches and fried food. I ordered the Farmer's Wife Salad with no feta or croutons. I also got a side of steamed broccoli. I'm glad I also brought along a protein bar to supplement. At least there was something I could eat with the limited choices.
As soon as I walked in, the hostess was able to easily explain everything that was an option to me. Before I could even ask about sauces and dedicated fryer, he was explaining those too. They make all of their own breads and sauces, delicious gf bread. I got the BBQ burger that had pulled pork and Cole slaw on it. So good!
Server was very knowledgeable about celiac disease and they took measures to avoid cross contamination. My chicken sandwich was delicious and they gave me gluten free side without an extra charge.
Excellent gluten free bread for yummy sandwiches.worth the upgrade price.nice sized portions. Also have gluten free dessert torte and cookies.CELIAC printed boldly on receipt..waitress knowledgeable and said staff given training.no separate frier for fried goods.sometimes offer gf soup but not today.both of these listings are the same restaurant.
