Online order. Ordered the GF soup and added a note about celiac/gluten allergy. Half way through my soup I found a gnocchi in it. Also got the grilled chicken parm with gf pasta. The pasta they use is not good, it taste like a white rice and has a slimey/gummy texture. The chicken was also a weird texture. Definitely tasted like some kind of processed meat.
0 stars on safety. I recently experienced every celiacs worst case scenario here. Before ordering the gluten free pasta I had a long informative conversation with the waitress and head chief. The head chef stated the he is very aware and will take all precautions necessary for me to be able to enjoy my meal. He brought the pasta out to me himself, and told me to enjoy. After a couple bites I noticed I was suppose to have a rigatoni noodle and not angle hair. I asked the waitress again just to double check, she informed me they DID mix the pasta up. I got an apology from the chef however will never eat here again. Was very sick for a couple of days.
I was surprised to find they did seem to understand and have options that were gluten free. I talked with the manager who assured me and assisted the waitress in understanding what I could and couldn’t eat. They had a list on the tablet left on the table what food had or didn’t have specific allergens in it. The only reason I’m giving 3 stars for taste is that I’m not a fan of this type of chain, Italian style food. Unrelated to gluten I wouldn’t pick it but my friend celebrated her Birthday there so I was thrilled to have safe options and join the group.
Gluten Free Pasta was good. Sauce was tasty. I got it with the grilled chicken pieces, which tasted slimy, undercooked, and boingy. Really the only meal option for Celiacs. I would go back again for the ambiance, but the price wasn't great, and there are better options out there.
