They do not train there staff at all. They add breadsticks to your takeout when it says gluten allergy all over it. When you dine in and tell them you have a gluten allergy they allow you to order and serve you food that is not gluten free and then blame the kitchen for the mistake after you’ve already eaten it. The Managers show no accountability and try to blame the customer and when you insist on seeing the info the kitchen had for the order and show them it says gluten allergy they just ‘oh sorry’. Based on my experiences I would not recommend them.
Have gotten gluten free pasta here several times and never had an issue
Delicious! I recommend the primavera with the gluten free pasta. Sooo good. If you are in the mood, try the Italian soda. You'd be surprised how good it is.
My son has Celiac and when I asked the waiter, they were very nice and told me they had gf pasta and sauces. My son loved the rotini pasta. Everyone was very nice and helpful with my questions.
Big fail at this Olive Garden. We informed our waiter of cross contamination concerns and he relayed to kitchen, but then we found pieces of gluten shells pasta mixed up in our gluten free rotini. They are not charging us for it, but the damage has already been done.
O'live Garden may be the most popular Irish chain restaurant since Bennigan's. But it should not be popular amongst the Celiac Diseased. On many occasions I have found a non-gluten free noodle in my pot of Irish pasta with what I believe to be an Oscar Meyer hot dog with ketchup.
I tried to order on line. Horrible experience. The site refused to put any item in my shopping bag. So I called....gave them my full name. When I arrived to pay, I gave them my full name. Unfortunately five girls all standing at the entry desk just said "what, who, what". It was worse than the web site. Oh but wait, it gets better. "We do not have an order under that name". I walked out, called back and was told it was my fault that I didn't tell them my first name. I went back and paid for my order got in the car to finish my list for the day. NO UTENSILES! The food was excellent, once I could get to a fork. Have not gotten sick. AFTER THE CONSUMPTION OF THE FOOD. Before was horrible! Pray for the staff and management, they need it.
They offer gf items on the menu, but it's cooked in the same place as the non gf items. There are no safe food handling practices. The noodles are boiled in regular noodle water and good luck getting a salad that didn't have the croutons picked out. Even just sausage links in sauce isn't safe. I've tried it a couple times and gotten wicked sick each time. I've had to go for work events and I won't eat anything there any more, too much contamination because the employees don't care or understand celiac.
The problem isn't the gf menu although it's lacking as well... This OG has the worst service. Every. Single. Time. We kept trying several times just because it's hard to be gluten free with kiddos. Pasta is always hard as a rock, service is about as fast 🙄. Skip it.
Stay away if you are Celiac or gluten sensitive. Neither kitchen nor staff are competent to safely serve Gluten Free. They take a long time to serve GF and frequently do not get it right. Who knows about cross contamination where you cannot observe their process. 1 sick, shame on them. 2 sick, shame on me if I would go back again.
Limited menu. I ordered a steak with veggie and a side of gf pasta and Alfredo. My plate came with breaded zucchini. I said I cannot have breading that’s why I ordered from the tiny gf menu and now that I look at it I don’t trust the cook who thought breading was okay so I’m not sure these noodles are gf either, I wasn’t given any other option they just took away the sides and I are a steak and salad. The sides weren’t even removed from my bill. They said aides are free with the entree. Not even a discount. Also asked if I wanted breadsticks right after asking for a gf menu. Stay away.
Be sure to ask that your GF pasta be cooked in separate, fresh boiling water. If not, they cook it in the SAME WATER AS GLUTEN PASTA!!! Seriously, what's the point in a celiac ordering GF pasta if they're going to cover it in gluten water!!!???
The experience here was horrible! We ordered the gluten-free chicken Parmesan, they brought us fried chicken with gluten-free noodles first big mistake. We re-ordered the food only to receive gluten-free noodles that were mixed with regular noodles so obviously they use the same pot and utensils and boiling water. We then called the manager to the table I told her how dangerous their practices were and they shouldn’t have a gluten-free menu if they’re not gonna take it seriously. She gave me my meal for free which wasn’t when I was trying to accomplish. I was with a group of 25 people and all of them saw the waiter roll her eyes at me when I brought this to her attention. This is my third terrible experience with Olive Garden and I won’t be returning ever again.
As in the previous review, I ordered the steak off the gf menu. My server assured me he would tell the kitchen I have Celiac. Another server brought my meal, with gluten containing items that did not match the meal description from the menu. I asked if everything was gf, she said that it was but she could check with the kitchen again if I wanted. What they had sent me was a regular meal, not the gf meal I ordered. This place is not safe. I eat in other Olive Gardens, but this location is careless and staff are poorly trained. Stay away.
I have gluten sensitivity and shellfish allergy. I love how they had a gluten free menu. They were very helpful. Then accidentally brought me regular pasta but I knew right away because it was spaghetti and not the gluten free rotini on the menu. They were great with fixing this quickly and told me they would not charge me for my meal. The meal was delicious!!
I’ve eaten here quite a few times and never gotten sick which is saying something considering I’m pretty sensitive. The waiters are always very accommodating when I mention I have celiac and how important it is to reduce the risk of contamination. They always take my request very seriously and even let the manager know. That being said, their GF options are very limited. I just always get plain GF pasta tossed in olive oil with a side of chicken. I find the simpler, the safer. I have definitely had better GF pasta, this one is quite mushy. But hey, I can’t complain because at least I have something to eat when I go there with my family, and I always prioritize my safety over taste. I’ve been glutened by restaurants that claimed they could accommodate me and it is NOT fun. So that makes me appreciate Olive Garden all the more.
They do have a separate (although limited) GF menu. I had grilled chicken parmesan with GF pasta and red sauce. Salad without croutons as well. Let my server know it was due to allergy and she put in computer for special handling of our food. Delicious and would eat here again.
There is a dedicated GF menu however it has 3 things on it ; salmon, gf rotini and salad minus croutons. I got the rotini with meat sauce and the salad. It was not a horrible dinner. I was glad they had the rotini because it's nice to be able to eat pasta when at an Italian restaurant!
I tried eating some of their gluten sensitive food, not gluten free as they don't have a dedicated part of the kitchen, and I became very ill. I'm not sure if it's because not all the elements involved, sauce, meats, etc., aren't gluten free or if there's too much cross contamination but I do not recommend eating here.
Gluten makes me sick. They have a gluten free menu. They have the steak Alfredo on the gluten free menu but I asked if I could do the steak Gorgonzola Alfredo but gluten free. The waiter said the Alfredo sauce is NOT gluten free. He went back to check when I said it's on the gluten free menu. He checked and it most definitely is thickened with a wheat product. If gluten makes you sick, DO NOT EAT AT OLIVE GARDEN. I will never go back. Rocco's up the street has some gluten free options and seemed very allergy aware during my first visit there (after leaving Olive Garden).
I took a chance despite some of the terrible reviews. I ordered the pasta with marinara as I figured that has the lowest potential to get screwed up. The waitress seemed knowledgeable. She knew which soups were gf, though I declined to get any. The pasta came out and clearly looked like corn pasta. It was ok tasting. Would not recommend going out of your way to go here, but if you end up here with a group, you can survive, or at least I did.
DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I ordered the gf pasta hoping for a good gf restaurant and boy was I wrong the pasta was mushy, slimy and nasty worst gf pasta I ever had. And after that I went straight home and had a reaction! So if ur planning on going here pls don’t!
