had what I thought was a good meal. got home and got sickness eating there again
My daughter has celiac and was able to have a good meal here. She enjoyed it and had no reaction.
Horrible. They used to have a mixed grill on the menu for twice the price of regular menu items. Once that disappeared off the menu I ordered gluten free pasta with broccoli as a side. Got so sick about 4 hours later and my misery lasted all night. Couldn't pay me to eat there again.
You would think that a place that pushes pasta as a reason to go there, and even offers a GF pasta, would be more accommodating. We went here earlier this year; service was fairly quick, the staff was friendly, the food experience sucked. Examples: When the large bowl of salad was brought over the waitress also brought over a separate bowl of crutons for my wife; perfect. Digging in the large salad bowl though we found.....a cruton. I ordered with my main selection a side order of the GF pasta. While we we eating our meal, and the waitress was presumably working tallying up the bill, she comes to the table and apologeticly tells us that she made an error with our order; for future refrencen, it seems that OG does not offer the GF pasta as a side dish, if you want GF pasta you have to order the full size serving which costs $10. Thanks but no thanks. They didnt charge us for a full serving, but we havent been back since; the food wasnt that great, I felt it was over priced as well, and I would rather support a place that genuinely caters to GF people.
Really yummy and I’ve never gotten sick! I always get the gf pasta with meat sauce, I would be hesitant about trying anything too iffy with contamination (they have a chicken parm that I’m not gonna try). I’ve never had any problems and the noodles are really good!
There is a severe lack of gluten free items on the menu and even when I get salad without croutons they usually have them in there anyway. Last time I told they waitress there waas croutons in my salad and she took it back, picked them out and gave me the same salad. Not good!
I ordered a GF pasta option. When the server put my first plate on the table he noticed a whole wheat noodle on my plate and took it back right away. I found another whole wheat noodle on my second plate after taking a few bites. I gave them a 2 star instead of 1 because the server and manager treated me very well. The server apologized profusely and the manager comped the bill.
Gluten free options are only salmon, steak, and gluten free rotini pasta. Asked for manager who provided a print out of all allergens on full spreadsheet which was nice but confusing. Younger staff was not education on celiac. I would not trust food items were not cross contaminated. My daughter with celiac elected not to take a chance and eat here.
There were very few options for gluten free. Rotini with marinara/ pesto/ meat sauce/ grilled chicken parmigiana and a Salmon dish. I do not have Celiac but I do have an intolerance, I feel horrible and I know for sure it was Olive Garden. Please be careful.
I was very impressed with the service I received at this Olive Garden location. I went on a Saturday evening, and even though it was busy, the manager was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable with my celiac concerns. She personally ensured no cross contamination with my meal and the waitress checked in on me often. I had the chicken parmigiana (grilled rather than deep fried) along with the traditional salad (no croutons). Delicious and wonderful service. No celiac reaction. Will go back again soon.
We hadn't been to an Olive Garden in years but decided to give it a try. I had soup and salad with grilled chicken. I was told the grilled chicken would be cooked in a separate pan. I don't know what the culprit was, but I know I got sick. Something was well contaminated and we won't be back.
I was served pasta that was not gluten free and after a few bites I realized looking at the chicken it was friend and not grilled. I got the waiter and he apologized and then asked if I at least wanted to keep the fried chicken... needless to say it is not gf friendly for celiacs and I would not go back after breaking out in hives.
The waiters at this location are rude. I ordered a gltuen free pasta with chicken and pesto sauce, they gave me 3 small pieces of chicken not even strips and the pesto sauce was oily. I won't be going back to the Bowie location, for better service go to the Waldorf MD location!
Only giving it a 1 star because I couldn't give Olive Garden a 0. They served me regular pasta after I double checked it was gluten free and then they came back after and said "Oops". I was so so sick.
I didn’t even consider Olive Garden as a choice. Both milk and wheat make me emergency room visit sick and pain for hours. It is a hypersensitivity, not allergies. I ended up there for a work lunch. I have food in my office so no big deal. They were totally awesome. The manager checked on me, the chief come out before he cooked. Please they were discreet so it didn’t make a scene.
Terrible as every review has said. I was stuck since others had chosen the location. My pasta was raw on one side of the plate and mush on the other. My chicken was llitteraly about 2 oz. , the salad was okay. I am mildly sick from it. Fortunately I ate very little of my meal. I will never go back. 2018 I went back recently. It is so much better! They made my favorite soup gf🤗 toscanna. the pasta is good too with the meat sauce and a sausage. I have been 4 or more times at coconut point in estero fl with no problems.
I have tried to eat here a few times and although they are cautious... the gluten free food was absolutely disgusting. The salmon costs $17.00 and you cannot have any spices on it. I didn't eat it and I will eat the frozen filets I cook at home just because it is good for me.... so I'm not that picky.... it is just really not good. The vegetables also were unseasoned... It is really not hard to cook Gluten Free.... and have gluten free spices on hand.... just don't pretend to have a gluten free m menu if you aren't going to make an effort to give the food some taste......
Manager says they use separate water for gf pasta, cook says they use same water, waiter says if Celiac don't order pasta there. So I took his advice, ate a salad and left. Sadly I really wanted some lovely GF pasta like I had in Victoria Olive Garden. :-( Waiter did not know what gluten was. Unaware they offered GF pasta but was willing to learn. Manager unwilling to come to my table.
No bread, but GF/DF pasta and meat sauce or chicken Parmesan minus the breading and cheese. Side salad with oil and vinegar was only DF option. No soups, even though our waitstaff one time tried to reassure me one was gf. Not been sick if I stick with the one dish.
