My son has celiac. After ordering from the allergen menu, and telling the waitress he has and allergy to gluten. He was served the wrong pasta luckily I caught prior to him tasting it.
I ordered the gluten-free rotini and added shrimp. It looked and tasted like some of the shrimp wasn't fully cooked. The pasta and sauce tasted like something I could make at home with a box of Barilla and Ragu. Unfortunately my server was inattentive too. I've had better experiences there in the past. I also think they used to have a larger gluten-free menu. I ended up feeling really off the next day, but I'm not 100% sure it was from this meal.
It was made clear on the menu that they couldn't guarantee everything to be completely gluten-free. Our server was very good about asking what I could or couldn't eat after I ordered the gluten-free rotini. He asked if it was alright to put croutons on the salad and, when we were done, asked if it was alright to put my box with the rest of the food.
I have an allergy to wheat and I ordered the "gluten free" pasta and had a horrible horrible reaction. their pasta is NOT gluten free
Would be a 5 if they had Gf breadsticks.
Terrible service absolutely terrible I don’t even know if it’s gluten-free cross contaminated unknowledgeable unfriendly staff tried many times to go here Olive Garden should know by now how to make a good gluten-free pasta and bread sad very sad. So many better options try Mancino‘s in grand Haven phenomenal and they know about gluten-free very knowledgeable wish I would’ve known about it years ago...
Not only did they bring me rigatoni instead of rotini (and only did they realize when I asked to double check) but I wanted to order a smoothie that was on their gluten sensitive menu and when checked was told it wasn't gluten free. On top of that a family member who is allergic to garlic and specifically asked and gave directions about every item was served steamed broccoli with- you guessed it- garlic. Thankfully she's not anaphylactic because she didn't taste it immediately. I will say the servers tried to check where possible and the manager claimed he would do further training with all staff to ensure they were more knowledgable about allergens. In the meantime, wouldn't recommend.
Food was okay to good. No gluten free menu, had to page through the electronic pad and look at nutrition info. The server was educated through, and when we ordered one side that was supposed to be gf she warned that they didn’t have dedicated dryers and they could not avoid cross contamination. We will have to wait and see if either of us react.
The menu is on a difficult-to-use electronic kiosk on the table. There are no gluten free desserts, except for chocolate or strawberry sauce. They sub rotini for any regular pasta. The waitress "didn't know much about the allergen menu" when I asked a question and directed me back to the kiosk.
I’ve ordered gluten free three times from here. First time was pasta with chicken parmesan. It came out with bread crumbs on top. Sent it back and ate it, the rest of the week I was ill. Tried going back a second time and got pasta with meat sauce. I got sick for a week. This last time I had to go because it was a family gathering. I ate pasta with just fresh parmesan on top. I did not get sick. I’m guessing it’s the sauce and or meat that was making me sick.
The food was tasty, but honestly, our server was a) not trained on how to manage an allergy and b) not very polite. I mentioned I had celiac and she brought us a salad w/ croutons. When my boyfriend politely mentioned we were going to need a new one, she said, “I wish you had told me before”. Seriously? That’s super rude. And we absolutely HAD told you. You’re the one who didn’t appear to care. She also asked me what my reactions were like. I’m like, really? I’m a lady. If you wanna hear about my explosive diarrhea episodes, I’d be happy to enlighten you. But not in the restaurant.
Very limited gluten free options and you have to sit and watch your group eat their bread sticks, not fun. Last time I went they messed up my order TWICE, by not making it with gluten free pasta. By the time I got my food, everyone else had already eaten. Luckily they comped my meal and I was really glad, because it was bland, the noodles sucked and it would have cost $17. I will never go to the Olive Garden out of choice, I've only winded up there when everyone else in a group wanted to go. Pretty sure I just won't join along if that's the case in the future.
The staff gave us an outdated menu for gluten free and what we ordered for my son was no longer available in gluten free. The manager basically told me they don’t make anything fresh, it all comes in prepackaged. Nothing tasted fresh so that makes sense. After we agreed upon the gluten free pasta with a checked breast, they totally forgot the chicken breast. Not sure how we got my son out of that place with out getting him contaminated. But he seems OK. Even though they gave us a $20 gift card, I doubt I will ever go back. Very few gluten free options and no knowledge about contamination.
Not knowledgeable about gluten free. I ordered the chicken parmesiono off the gluten free menu and got a plate full of regular pasta and chicken covered in gluten breading on the chicken. The manager came to the table and kept referring to my me as vegan. I ended up cancelling my order all together. Its been 7 years since I have eaten here and I will it be going back.
CELIACS BEWARE NOT SAFE!!!When I called to ask about cross contamination and they didn't know what it was and then when I explained what it was they said they would be accommodating and said there would not be an issue. Once we got there and talked to the kitchen manager who is very nice he assured me that precautions would be taken. I noticed when they brought the food out it was all on the same tray and one of the plates of the contaminated food was touching on my food. So I ended up eating in immediately after was sick definitely got cross-contamination from somewhere in that restaurant. The staff are very nice, although they are definitely not cross-contamination safe. Our food took forever to come out the table next to us who arrived 30 minutes after we were there received their food before we did. Ordered a salad without croutons and the salad came with croutons on it. So we had to send it back. They just do not take proper precautions to ensure safety. Celiacs beware you will get extremely sick eating here. At this location in Miamisburg, OH
Waitress was very helpful. I ordered the house salad without croutons and the gf rotini with meat sauce, grilled vegetables on top and lots of grated cheese. Tasted pretty good! Menu is labeled with G, but options are limited. Still satisfied!
Very inconsistent. The pasta was terribly dried out and mushy in the middle. I mentioned it to the server and she got irritated with me. It is not supposed to be shiny and plastic looking and tasting. This was terrible GF but the rest of my family had a fine meal. The server was visibly very irritated about the whole gluten free thing (I have Celiac's - I am not making it up). I'd go elsewhere.
Staff was knowledgeable, gluten free menu was on the video screen thingy & clearly marked. Food was good, better on the second visit, nothing to write home about, but I have Celiac and did not get sick, so if I'm in the area, I will eat here again.
Really yummy and I’ve never gotten sick! I always get the gf pasta with meat sauce, I would be hesitant about trying anything too iffy with contamination (they have a chicken parm that I’m not gonna try). I’ve never had any problems and the noodles are really good!
There is a severe lack of gluten free items on the menu and even when I get salad without croutons they usually have them in there anyway. Last time I told they waitress there waas croutons in my salad and she took it back, picked them out and gave me the same salad. Not good!
